    • Fragile
Muffler always losing the nuts from vibration while riding, an other common nuts of the same thread don't work as well. Decent replacement for the OEM part but fragile. If you want your muffler to stay on "Permanently" I have had good results with this set + red thread sealer, Just make sure you have the muffler lifted up and held firmly against the motor, and hand-thread the nuts on, then after its finger tight use a wrench to tighten it the last little bit. Don't try to tighten the nuts too much, the first thing to break will be the bolt. If you're lucky it will break at a spot where you can grab it with pliers and twist it out and give it another shot with the spare bolt, but my experience is that it usually breaks the bolt just slightly inside of the motor, so you have to try to extract it with a reverse drill bit. Its a really annoying situation, to have a problem with your muffler staying attached and buy a replacement set of mounting hardware, and break the bolt off inside which means you either have to put all this effort just to get it out or try to live with 1 nut on the muffler (It will fail and start rattling right away) Tighten very gently if you don't have a torque wrench ... show more
