  • Great little air brush
I have always wanted an air brush but could never afford one until this one showed up. It is really easy to use after watching some videos because the instructions were not that easy to follow. But, a few videos later and I can fill it and use it. Now to practice and get it under control. I am going to enjoy mastering this form of painting. I would definitely recommend this set to anyone that wants to air brush but remember, watch some videos. ... show more

  • Ok for budget/backup unit
Ok never airbrushed before. but familiar with art in general. The presentation and English on the manual is crossing the line. We all know that's a common occurance, but it's really bad in the manual, almost on purpose or a skit... But it's also contradictory. It says to NOT THIN PAIN with thinner...use water...but to use thinner to clean it...ok? Not sure what to do because it's common practice that thinner is better than water for airbrushing. Thing is when you use water, this thing does not handle it that well. If you want detail you usually water down the paint and apply a lower pressure - I've seen people use 10-15 psi. The included compressor starts at 25 and jumps to 55 in increments of 5. So if you want a transparent light paint for detail, you're not getting it here. For thicker paint, such as Golden high flow...out of the bottle or just a drop or so of water/thinner, it will splatter even at higher pressures. From testing this for hours, about 20-30 percent thinner to paint works best at lowest pressure setting. Deviate from that and you'll have issues. The trigger isn't comfortable and even adjusting, is hard to get used to. You pull back to paint and it's very easy to let go of pressure as you need to press down hard all the way. If you lighting press down for air pressure, the air will stop as you pull back for paint. As you continue painting, I've noticed you have to pull back farther and farther to get paint to come out and it's not gradual, you'll pull back nothing, wind up slowly going all the way, then BAM full blast. Even carefully managing mixing, cleaning, tip dry etc you'll run into this problem to some degree and it's annoying. The machining seems fine aside from the screw threads...this unit you'll always have to double check if everything is screwed tight before starting as they come loose a bit too easily over time. The included compressor is nice, but there's no water trap or fine tuning for pressure. So to get this compressor up to speed, you'd want to buy 20-30 extra on a moisture trap and pressure regulator to go below 25psi, as well as capture particles and moisture in the air flow, which is really necessary. So factor that into the cheap price. Once you get used to the brush it's OK as a starter intro kit and found you can manage SIMPLE airbrush projects - like doing a light gradation on a cake, or SKETCHING / BLOCKING in a painting (note I said sketch and block NOT COMPLETE). But if you want to make really good artwork and illustrations, you'll want to upgrade. The included compressor, even though better one's exist, is a nice starting point to get into airbrushing and practice, but, I personally REALLY want to get a REAL BRUSH now and relegate the included brush as a backup/block in brush. I can only recommend buying this if you have a steady stream of projects requiring SIMPLE work. ... show more

  • Colima Airbrush & Compressor
I've really enjoyed this airbrush kit & compressor. Some of the kits that come with compressors only go up to half the psi of this one. I feel like this offers more versatility. I appreciate that it comes with cleaning tools and a variety of paint cups as well for covering larger surfaces. I'm still learning how to airbrush but really enjoying it. The instructions could be better not nothing a YouTube video or two can't resolve. ... show more

  • Good airflow and nice results
It arrived and was very easy to assemble and put together. We placed the paint in and started the air painting and my teen daughter loves the way it flows and paints. She also stated that she can complete bigger projects with less paint than she used to use before with this. It is good quality and very powerful and has good airflow. ... show more
