My husband and I set this up in our dining room today - just to get a feel for its size, check for any tears, broken zippers, or issues with poles. First of all, it’s huge! As a family of 5, we wanted something large enough for a comfortable camping weekend. My husband and daughter backpack and have tiny, lightweight tents for that purpose - this is NOT that! It took just under 20 minutes for my husband to open it and set it up for the first time; it was pretty simple and I imagine would go much quicker when the two of us set it up together. A quality tent at a good price. Easy to set up after you’ve done it once. My only issue was that it’s almost impossible to get it back in the bag. Couldn’t you make the bag a little bigger? No one is taking this backpacking. Anyway, if you want an affordable tent for car camping, this is a good one.

The hype is true. This is the easiest tent I have ever owned. One person can’t get this all the way up in 5 minutes but you can do it in 10, counting tightly staking out the fly. The quality is consistent with other Coleman products I have used in the past. Packing it is a little more tedious but not bad. Buy some aftermarket stakes though. Last year I decided I wanted to start camping. I had not been camping since I was a teen w/my parents decades ago. I wanted to get into the hobby cheap, but not so cheap as to ruin the experience. Just to see if I really would enjoy it or if the nostalgia would wear off fast. I used this tent several times this year and don't regret it one bit. In the pros column: * Plenty of space for a single person. I was able to fit a camping cot, my camping chair, and a 25 gallon bin (as a nightstand) in the tent with enough room to move around. It was snug, but comfortable. * The tent held up to moderate rain on two of my trips - no water got inside. Though there was little wind to drive the rain. * The mostly netting body with the rain fly providing privacy meant that the tent remained relatively cool. But it was still comfortable down into the mid-30s F. And the cons: * The provided stakes were not of the best quality and were a challenge to use in the very rocky sites I went to in the West. * While the tent could remain cool, in direct sunlight on a desert day, it would not. The lone window on the front door meant there was little chance of a cross breeze helping matters much. * Setting up as a solo camper did take some time - definitely not the 5 minutes as advertised. Closer to 15 minutes. * The domed walls do cut down on the usable floor space inside the tent when not sleeping/resting directly on the ground. * Trying to get the tent to fit into the original, machine packed bag, is an exercise in futility. I simply bought a 25 gal. tote to carry the tent, rain fly and ground tarp in. Honestly, for a year's worth of usage to see if I really was going to keep camping, this was the ideal tent. A lot of the negatives on the list are more due to the style of camping I intended to use vs. the style of camping the tent targets. This is more of a heavier, multi-person, backpacking tent whereas I set out to car-camp as a solo person. I have since replaced this tent with a far more expensive, far heavier, and roomier tent for my 2nd season. But this tent fulfilled it's purpose. Easy set-up and breakdown. I can do it solo with no issues. Designed well. I was camping and caught in heavy rains. I was the only one with no water inside. I was not in a high spot and had some puddling around and under the tent, so I was very pleased with is performance. Only con is that it does get pretty stuffy inside without fans running and screen covering down. But given I'm in FL, that wasn't a big surprise and I was prepared for that issue. ... show more

I was looking for a reasonably priced tent where I could stand fully upright (I'm 5 ft 8 in tall). The price (44% off) and center height (6 ft) of this tent appeared to fit the bill. I wasn't excited about the color and camo pattern but I purchased it anyway (I did not opt for the discounted "used" purchase option." To become familiar with the tent set up, I tried setting it up at home before taking it on a camping trip. It's a good thing I did. One of the plastic buckles was in pieces and one of the elastic cords connecting the pole segments was completely cut resulting in a detached pole segment. Where was the quality control before this was shipped out? I still liked the price and height of the tent and requested an exchange. The replacement tent was already on its way before I dropped off the return at the UPS store. As soon as the replacement arrived I could tell from the packaging and tape job that I was probably sent someone else's return. Sure enough, as soon as I opened the box there were pieces of another broken piece of plastic, this time one of the small hooks that attaches the tent to one of the poles. Again, where was the quality control? Everything else was intact so I proceeded with putting up the tent and everything else was fine. I replaced the broken plastic hook with a medium sized carabiner clip and the tent attached to the pole perfectly. I debated sending the second tent back but was worried the third tent would be damaged even worse. Because the carabiner worked I decided to keep the tent. If you purchase, just be aware you might be getting damaged goods. Pros Good price if on sale Center height high enough to fully stand up Spacious footprint Relatively easy set up process but still more than the 5 minutes as advertised Cons Quality concerns Door flap frequently snags in zipper ... show more
