  • Great family tent
Color: Green
This is a great 8p family tent. I set this up in the backyard for this review and it is currently windy (only about 5-8mph with gusts to 15mph) which gave this setup a good test. This tent is large, but its mostly long and not really deep (from the front door) which made it a little easier to set up when positioned correctly. The main cross poles are very thick and strong which holds the bulk of the tent up. There are then 2 front to back poles that are a little bit thinner but are used to hold most of the side of the tent on either end out. I did not put on the rain fly but it has its own pole and the instructions seem to show it covering a sufficient amount of the tent. One neat thing that I have not experience before is the fact that you can put poles around the door to make it more ridged. there was plenty of space on the inside and without the rain fly there was sufficient air flow. There are only 2 small windows on either end and the 1 window at the door but with the pole on the rain fly, i believe there will be enough air flow then too. Too many windows make for too many leaks anyway so I am perfectly fine with these windows. It says you can fit 3 queen mattresses in here and I believe it as it there is sufficient space for my family of 4 and 2 dogs. ... show more

  • Great for car camping and more...
Color: Green
I don't know who put together the product page for this tent here on Amazon, but it's all kinds of wrong.... This tent is 16'x7' horizontally, not the unlikely dimensions listed in the product description (27.75"L x 9.5"W x 9.25"H). It weighs about 22 pounds. You can stand up inside. It's a big tent. It's also a great tent for family camping. I was looking at reviews of the tent and the review at GearLab dinged this tent for its lack of windows--just one at either end and the door. They complained about the lack of a view from the inside of the tent. It makes me wonder if they've ever actually gone camping.... I don't care about views when I'm in my tent. I despise big plastic windows that are leak points waiting to happen. I want waterproof, and the windows, rainfly and floor on this tent are all designed to stand up to harsh weather. Once you've been out at night in a tent in the wilderness with a torrential thunderstorm washing through your camp site you'll care more about waterproof and sturdy in your tent than its views. This tent's polyethylene floor is great for sturdy watertightness. And to be doubly secure, you can add an interior tarp for good measure... Fiberglass poles (there are seven, in total) are what you expect in a tent like this. When erect and fully staked, the tent has good stability against wind. Putting the tent up can be done by one person, but it's easier with two. This isn't North Face. This is Coleman. It's for family use, not wilderness trekking. But for its purposes, it's just an all-round solid, capable and useful tent. ... show more

  • Very roomy
Color: Green
We set this up in our backyard to test it and so that my daughters could have their own girl cave - no boys allowed of course! It is huge! My daughters were very happy about that. They are extra thrilled that they each get a side that is fairly divided, each with its own window. Twin air beds, stuffies, and blankets all fit on each side with room to roll around in. I didn’t bother to measure it as it was so big that my family of four fit very nicely in it, with room to spare. Setup is not difficult, but did take a little longer for one person who had not set up a tent in many years. This is an excellent tent and we’ll be happy to use it when we go camping in the spring. ... show more

  • Great for families!
Color: Green
If you've ever had a Coleman tent, this is a huge version of that tent and you know exactly what you're getting. The quality is actually pretty good - the breathable mesh didn't have any rips, none of the stitching was unraveled at all, the bottom tarp is fairly thick, and the zippers are smooth. It is about half the size of a normal family room, so quite spacious for the outdoors. Four people can easily splay out in here without touching each other at all. Eight people might literally fit in here, but six is more likely the max. The whole thing took about 15 minutes to setup and 20 to tear down. Fitting it back in the carrying bag was a struggle. Complaints: The poles snag a bit when going through the sleeve. The ground stakes are too lightweight for most uses, but that's not unusual in this category of tent. We'll be replacing these immediately. The "E Port" is a zippered hole, that's it. It doesn't have a tie to cinch around an extension cord, so if you're paranoid about bugs, etc getting in, then you're going to have a bad time. Not recommended for backpacking due to the overall weight and size of footprint. Strongly endorsed for car camping. ... show more

  • Classic Coleman Quality
Color: Green
As always, Coleman comes through! This is a spacious tent that is going to be nice for early spring through late fall camping! Two windows that open easily providing a nice cross-draft, easy-to open door with screen in, solid floor (though I always put a tarp under my tent and a lightweight rug or tarp on the tent floor as these can tear over time), and well-made tent ropes to keep your cover extended and extend protection from wind and rain. Spacious enough for people and gear, and easy to roll up and store. Fairly easy and fast set-up, but keep the directions for future use. Nice quality, comes with a handy storage and carry bag, and a rainfly that you don't ever want to lose. It always helps to use some extra waterproofing spray, and I thought it was helpful to add twinkle lights to the front ropes so noone trips on them! ... show more

  • Big, easy, great ventilation options
Color: Green
This is the biggest tent we’ve had-I was worried that the setup time would increase with the space but it’s really the same as a 4-person tent…even with “helpers” :D The seams are strong-these dudes did their obligatory crash into the walls thing and only succeeded in pulling up one stake. The door is really a highlight-it’s so easy to operate that it will save you several minutes if not more per day vs a flap. A person up to about 5’9’’ can stand in the center of the tent but not the sides. The ventilation is great, not just because of the standoff between the mesh roof and the rainfly but also because of the ground-level vents. Thoughtful, well-built kit! ... show more
