This radar/laser detector works 100% exactly as it should. Very accurate and works at great distances. The reason some have given it 1 stars saying it didn’t detect a police officer. The reason for this is because not all cops have their radars on. Cops are highly trained to be able to look at a car and determine an average speed. If the officer does not have his radars on it WILL NOT detect it. It’s impossible for any radar detectors to detect one that isn’t turned on. Therefore it will not beep saying cop ahead. I come from a family of town cops and state troopers and tested the equipment on various speed detecting equipment and various bands. The device found every single one of them before the cop cars detector scanned me giving me time to slow Down. The rear scanner on the device works just as good AS LONG AS it has a clear view to the back. For laser detectors that cops sometimes use they HAVE to be parked and not moving for it to get your speed. The reason is because the laser beam is very small and narrow and must hit the car directly for it to register a speed making it 80% more accurate. This detector should be mounted in the very center bottom of your windshield for best use. The reason for it to be placed in the bottom center is most speed trap lasers are lower to the ground for best accuracy meaning the laser is pointed at the hood/front bumper of your car. Having the device in the center bottom gives it about 90% more chance of warning you sooner. With radars the police use it’s a large dispursment of radio waves making it very easy for the radar detector to find. The amazing thing about this detector is the fact it has a great system to determine if it’s a cop or just a door near by. I have so far never had a false reading in town unless I had the sensitivity on high. Finally, those who say they get false highway readings. Your not. 1st off there are hidden speed cameras. 2nd Cars and simitrucks can set it off. Why? Well, that is because most new cars and almost all simitrucks have radar systems that help them detect nearby cars to alert you when not to merge over or if your swerving. These radar systems in the trucks and cars generally use a K band signal at 24.75hertz. Passing a railroad crossing can almost always set it off. Rail roads have radars to detect cars to send information to the trains conductor to know he needs to blow the horn and lower the arms on the tracks. The signal is different state to state but in South Carolina about 98% of railways use X band. ... these 5 stars are for the detector alone at under $150! DO NOT download and sign up for the app! 1. It doesn't work well. I had to turn off my smart watch as it got stuck in a loop with notifications. 2. They'll bombard your email with junk emails! The detector works great! I got it for a spare car and am comparing it to my 4 times more expensive Escort. Pros: Few falses and very modest alerts (voice) on K and X band. More assertive with alarm and voice on Ka and there was cops so it WORKS! Display is clear and bright enough in daylight. Functions are clear enough but you may wanna download a full manual. Cons: Mounting is okay. Feels secure but not Escort nice. Cord is just that, a cord. Long enough for any cigarette lighter plug-in but has no buttons. If you wanna mute an alert you need to reach the mute button on the detector. Closest to you but still far away, especially in a truck or SUV etc. But overall a 5 STAR $150 detector! Does all the Escort do for me (I just hang it and expect it to point out police radars in the vicinity. ) I actually like Cobra alerts better as they're not in your face like Escort. I recommend this product but don't download the app and expect to actually use the buttons on the detector (if you need to, I set mine up and now don't touch it other than the occasional mute when a cop is close for a long time.) ... show more

Some great features, can turn off certain radar frequency that don't want going off, it automatically volume down after a few beeps of catching a radar frequency, this is a great feature 👍, I have been warned ⚠️ by this multiple times a week of a Ka frequency in my location and slowed down only to see the man waiting a few blocks down, saved by this radar detector. After a few weeks of listening and seeing the frequency that are in the area , it becomes easy to tell exactly what's detected 😉 , some traffic lights using radar type camera systems will set of a K detection, others have a X and of course the stores automatic door sensors set of a K or X depending on type. Great unit , highly recommended. Use it for a month or two so you are used to its detection frequencies and setting is recommended. ... show more

Will continue to run and drain your car battery over extended periods make sure to turn off after EVERY use. Very sensitive and will give off alerts to random things like stop lights and the fronts of grocery stores for some reason. Very loud if you don't set it right every time. Almost ended up in a few crashes because random things would make it blare in my car Very loudly. Will not alert to xray or Lazer from the rear unless it has direct sight of the back window and tints will give you more laser false positives for some reason. Definitely takes some getting used to and fine tuning but over all has saved me a fee times. ... show more
