  • Cobra CB, yes still good company
Awesome radio and sometimes hard to find. Typical CB and weather. Not much to review and works great.

  • vety good product- shipped early
This CB is outstanding. It may be a tad pricy but with a cheaper CB its hard to understand people. First off I ordered this CB on a Saturday. The estimated shipping date was next Friday to Tuesday. This was a problem as I really wanted the cab by Thursday so I could mount it and have it for a road trip I was about to take. The package came in a day early. This shipped from California and I live on the east coast of Maryland. I used standard 3-5 day shipping. Very pleased. Next the box has minimal damage. And by minimal I mean the corners were messed up but that was expected with a coast to coast shipment. However when I opened the box the radio was covered in bubble wrap and looked factory fresh very pleased with that. Now the actual radio is nice its easy to calibrate the directions are in AMERICAN English only and are short and simple to read. Next the install. I took off my radio cover. And ran my antenna wire through my dampners in my pickup. The Antenna is roof mounted and I ran my radio cord through my radio etc. Next the power cord its a plug for the back of the cab a fuse and the other end is a piece of stripped wire. The whole thing is about 5 food long. If your not experienced with cars or wire splicing I would reccomend getting the cigarette lighter adapter. However if you think you can do it. I just spliced the hot and neutral in with my cigarette lighter and it works fine and my cigarette light will still charge my phone. Lastly you can hardwire to your battery the only reason is because the CB lights up and is easy to tell when its on. Just remember the antenna really determines how far your signal is. I hooked up a small PA system with my CB but beware while this isn't illegal where I live a cop can and will usually give you shit if they hear it. Other than that this is a great looking quality inexpensive ( not cheap inexpensive for the quality) cab. PS when I mounted my radio bracket I used all four self tapping screws on the mount. Your oonly supposed to use two for the radio bracket and the other two are for the mic holder. I didn't know this so I just used two more self tapping screws I had lying around for the mic mount. Hope this helps ... show more

  • Very cool little CB
Style: 29 LTD Nightwatch Pattern: CB Radio
The only issue I had with this unit is the power supply they give you, it's not long enough. Went to the hardware store and bought a spool of 14 gauge wiring and the length problem was fixed. I hooked this radio straight to the battery and it works flawlessly. After I calibrated the radio (which took about 5 min to do) I took a drive on the highway and immediately started to pick up chatter. Conducted a radio check and got a reply in about 3 seconds that I was coming in loud and clear. This is a cool little CB and for the price I thought it was the best deal for the money. This unit also has a built in SWR meter so you don't need to buy one. The classic look and the fact this unit has a built in SWR meter was the selling point for me. Mic feels like cheap plastic and will probably be replaced down the line but it works for now. ... show more

  • A tried and true radio
Style: 29 LTD Nightwatch Pattern: CB Radio
After deciding that I will indeed stay with OTR trucking,I'm starting to invest in equipment. This CB was my first major purchase for the semi. And I love this radio. All the old timers swear on the Cobra Classic and I must admit that I am a little old fashioned as well. I had previously borrowed a Cobra from a friend, but I couldn't transmit. It could have been anything so I decided to buy my own. I love it!! Everyone says they can hear me crystal clear. I did a radio check yesterday, and one guy said it's working like a $2.00 you know what!! I didn't know if that was good or not, so I had him clarify!! That could be interpreted both ways!!! But seriously,it's a great buy. I bought a refurbished one,and it's just fine!!! I chose the NW (night watch) which looks great at night! Plus,it keeps you from turning the wrong knobs in the dark. ... show more

  • I love this radio
I had several CBs in my Jeep trying to find just the right one. I wanted one that had a smaller footprint than this one for the sake of my passengers (it was mounted under the dash on the passenger side). I ended up coming back to this one because I prefer having a different knob for each setting (gain, volume, squelch, mic, etc.). To get the smaller footprint most radio combine functions into one or two knobs. For me, when off-roading at night that was a hassle adjusting as needed. I love this radio. It is easy to adjust and fine tune as needed, so long as you already know how gain, squelch, etc. work. I even put a dot of liquid paper on each knob to know my best settings in case they get turned. My passengers hit it with their legs a good bit, but I am not taking it out for them. Great radio! ... show more
