Some of these sun shade canopies can get pretty lightweight in an attempt to make them more portable. That's great an all unless you get 4 - 7 mph winds where you are. So now, for our screen room, we use these. I plan on adding more, and I know there will be two outcomes if I try to win over Mother Nature. One, the entire thing will end up in a tree 80' off the ground in the woods behind our house, or Two, the the entire frame will be sitting there and the material will just be shredded. So either way I am going lose but for now I am hoping she is kind to us. I wanted these to be portable so I use play sand (for a kids sandbox) for now, but I am seriously contemplating using concrete grindings. It is definitely heavier and still fluid like sand. I'm not sure what you would do if you needed to use these while camping. I couldn't see using dirt, and it might not be cool, digging it up. Rocks either. Who's got time for that. And no way is anyone going to take sand with them.......I hope. So for now, for us, they are fantastic at the house. Sure, I could run guy wires but the area around the canopy is limited and they would be more of a hinderance, especially with our dogs. I suppose, as a last resort, you could fill these with cheap quick setting concrete, and just leave them out in the rain a couple times, or drench them with a garden hose slowly, let it dry, and you will have permeant weights you can take and use anywhere. concrete is very heavy. Using these bags would be a very clean looking solution. Or maybe only fill them half way, so they aren't as heavy for portability, and then add to them on-site. A lot of choices. I like them a lot.

So these bags are designed and intended for more of a canopy tent on tall legs, or probably anything that needs extra weight to keep it down. In my case, I have a light deck table that tends to get blown around in the wind. This is basically a set of four sandbags, with velcro on the ends to simplify filling up, and a velcro loop in the middle to simplify attaching it to something. In my case, I simply needed 2 bags to weigh down the table a bit. Bags are easy to fill, seem reasonably sturdy, and obey the laws of gravity resulting in a heavy weight. Stitching seems like it could be a bit better, and that's actually my primary concern. It's not bad, but not really double stitched so it might not last a lot of abuse. But seems like it'd last a few seasons at least.

OK first of all I love these sandbag weight bags. We have several Patio Canopies and a Grill Gazebo. Everybody knows that after 1 good gust of wind, these things are getting picked up and flung across your lawn, bending the aluminum poles or arms and they're goners. We tried out these fill em yourself sandbag leg weights and they are the best thing since sliced bread ! We bought a couple bags of sand from the local pool supply store and loaded them with clean fill. There are velcro straps to close the weightbag as well as to wrap around the legs of your outdoor fun hut. I'm happy to report that all my covered patio tents and gazebo, stood tall even during outer bands of a Hurricane Ian. These work and you shouldn't just repy on ground stakes to hold onto your expensive tents. Buy these and thank me later !

So I've used these sand bags for a few things now and they're pretty good so far! I'm in Florida and while they didn't hold up to either hurricane we had, I didn't really expect them to, ha! I use them mainly on my grill gazebo on my back patio. We've had a few cold fronts come through recently and these sand bags have done a nice job combating the wind from the storms that brought the cold fronts. I've also used them to hold steady my pop up canopy at a craft show I did. I used my daughter's sand box sand to fill the bags and it works great for us so far!

Far too many times we see tents go flying. We did not want to be the next victim. We loaded up amazon and ordered a set of these weights to help keep our tent planted. We went with these bag version over the solid plate for ease of transportation. We can fit a set of these in the canopy bag and fill them with some local dirt, rock, or sand once we are at our location. We can then empty them out when finished and place them back in the canopy bag for next time. They attach to the legs with velcro straps which are adequate enough.

I get high winds where I live. I just got a new grill canopy so I wanted to have a little extra piece of mind that it won’t end up across the yard during the next wind storm. These bags seem to be constructed well and made from a durable material. I haven’t filled them yet but I like that you can fill them with sand, rocks, water, whatever you want. The only thing I am worried about is the Velcro that attaches to the leg of the canopy seems kind of week. I am hoping it will hold up….time will tell. Overall I am pleased with these weight bags. They definitely make me feel better when it gets a little windy!

These are well built sandbags. I'm a professional photographer and frequently use sandbags on set. These are made of the same strong ployester material - just shaped a bit differently. The quality is there. Tip: Use gallon sized ziplock bags and fill it full of gravel (not sand). You can pick a bag up in the gardening section of Lowes/Home Depot. The larger gravel provides a firm, yet moldable material. It also keeps small sand spills from happening. The ziplock makes placing it super easy and clean. A caribeener hook is a nice addition if you want to hook them together or hang them. Recommended.
