We have several large canvas photos in our home, and the existing ceiling fan lights just didn't do them justice. We installed one of these for each photo, and now they look incredible. We now have better lighting than our local art gallery! They are straight-forward to install if you are comfortable cutting holes in your ceiling and running wire through your attic, etc. Otherwise, it would be best to hire a professional. We like that the color temperature can be adjusted. However, the adjustment switch is on the metal box, so it's not easily accessible once installed. We have been using one set on a dimmer switch for over a year with absolutely zero problems. The light is very pleasing at all brightness levels with no flickering. We like them so much that we ordered another set when we got more pictures.

So i got these up and running for a week now and I love them! The app is easy and they work great! I will say getting them to this point was a little challenging and I hope this helps someone. To set these up they work with wifi 2.4 now my internet service modem is 5.0 and how I was able to set them up was to call up my provider of my internet, and on their end they can reduce your modem for an hour to 2.4 in which is long enough for you to program them and after an hour, your modem will automatically go back to what it was, in my case back to 5.0. They been working fine since and no problem with my internet. They are dimmable, set time to turn on n off, change color or keep them steady on same color. Great lights! They shine great on white walls, but make it an off white and not bright white for better shine.

Purchased two kits to accommodate for front and back soffit lighting. Very pleased with the results as installation and set up was very easy. Just note: each lights need to communicate via Wi-Fi 2.4 ghz so in my case I needed to install a wi-fi extender in the attic near the lights.(see photo) that cost an additional $17 from Amazon. Extender acts as a hub and go-between to main router. You can also call your internet provider and request to install 2.4 ghz along with the normal 5 ghz. On your account. mine did it at no additional cost. Overall, the setup was very easy , app is very good and allows scheduling lights; Setting up groups, and many other useful functions

Includes everything needed for install. Box has screws (very weak, hand tighten or use low clutch force), plug for knockout, and off-brand wagos for hot/neutral/ground. Fitting even two 12-2 wiring for daisy chaining is tight, so do not plan to put anymore in the box without a second knockout. Adjustable white light color made an easy match to my warm white ceiling fan light. Dims to a pretty low level but they do seem on the weaker side compared to my "dumb" recessed lights. Happy with the brightness range for this application, but could be marginal for some areas. (e.g. kitchen) Cloudy Bay App connects and allows simple automations, but I switched to the Tuya app to integrate with HomeAssistant. One of the lights took 3 attempts to pair which was concerning, especially with my non-congested 2.4ghz and well covered WIFI space. (3 Ubiquiti access points) On that note I wish they made a Zigbee version, as generic wifi is not my preferred protocol. But not many options out there for a gimbal recessed light yet. Hopefully longevity will be the strong suit; installing recessed lights is a permanent fixture that I hope will not need to be replaced for years.

I really like using these lights with alexa. But, a few months back, they were disconnected from wifi after an eero mesh software update. I knew I had to "pause the 5 Ghz band" on the eero router to add them back on. But, after several tries, I gave up. But, my family really missed using Echo to set the colors, so I tried again just this weekend. I emailed support. They quickly responded with some ideas. While trying their suggestions, I noticed that my phone remained connected to the 5 Ghz band - even when paused on the router. Long story short... I must "Forget SSID" while the router is in 2.4 Ghz mode and re-login to the wifi network. Then, follow the connection instructions in phone app. Viola! Everything works now. These are great value. They have great features and integrate well with both Alexa and Google.

I had electricians install 8 of these fixtures and set them to 3500 Kelvin. They broke one of the spring levers and when I contacted the seller I got an immediate response and a replacement fixture very well packaged and protected 4 days later. When I looked at the fixture they took down I see that it had not broken due to poor manufacturing and might be reusable, as a spare. I had them set the color to 3500K, but then decided this is too blue for my living room and easily reduced it to 2700K, which will be fine. Generally the build is flimsy, but should be adequate located in the ceiling and very seldom to be touched. There is a nice tight fit and seal under the rim to keep the insulated attic from leaking heat or cold into the house. Also there is a cover above the hinged lamp so attic insulation can not interfere with easily adjusting the tilt of the lamp to compensate for the ceiling slope or to flood light in a specific direction.

I bought and installed 4 of these lights in August, 2022. Love the lights. Easy to use. However today, at Cloudy Bay prompting, I upgraded the software. 3 of the units are fine but a fourth unit went completely dark. Cannot turn on; followed all of the suggested steps. Don't know if the Problem is a one-off, but I cannot find any store where I can buy a single unit. So the consequences of the failure are to buy 4 more at around $119, and hire an electrician to replace one unit (another $100). Leaves me with 3 spares when the next one goes. (I would replace myself, not hard, but I have 12 foot ceilings and I am 86 years old. So....). Durability may be a problem.
