This is a well built, sturdy umbrella, but wish it was easier to close. It opens nicely with a button, but closing it takes a bit of patience and strength. Hopefully you're not outside when it's raining and you're trying to figure out how to close it. It's a fine, pretty standard basic umbrella -- similar to drugstore quality. The auto-open mechanism works very well. Pressing the button again with the umbrella open collapses the top, but pushing the top back in requires a lot bit of force. I have to use two hands, pressing it from both ends, in order to get the mechanism to close. The mechanisms feel of sufficient quality and should last. ... show more

This serves it's purpose just fine. Seems decent quality. Only issue is it is really hard to retract. Great if you want to make sure your kids don't steal your umbrella. 😜

Received a week earlier than stated. "Up/down" button works well at the moment. Be very prepared for pressing "Up" arrow--give yourself plenty of space, it opens all the way quite forcefully and quickly! "Down" simply folds the umbrella, it does not retract it back into the handle--you need to push it down yourself, and it takes quite a bit of push Material is very thin, tho umbrella construction seems well-done.
