These are the perfect size for my small closet. They are hefty for being so small. Very easy to put together. Came in original, unopened boxes. Doesn't show dirt. Can fit shoes under the shelf as well, so I can easily store 6 pairs of shoes. (No, I am not able to put three pairs on the shelf. I wear a size 8.5 and only two pairs of tennis shoes will comfortably fit on a shelf. I could probably squeeze a third pair in, but nah.)

I bought the larger ones many years back to solve the issue of my shoes taking over my closet - I think my shoes multiply when I am sleeping. : ) They lasted – and still look great after all these years. This time around I bought the shorter ones - this way - between the larger ones and these smaller ones side by side in my closet - I still had room in my closet for a section for my dresses to hang down to the floor too. Plus all my shoes are pretty tidy at this point too. Pretty easy to put together - although you have to use a bit of muscle to get the screws in tight with a manual scredriver. They also have a bit of weight to them as well – which I think is a good thing. My older ones have never sagged and the particle board is quite thick and sturdy. (One guy's review said he was disappointed when it broke when his friend sat on it - and another review warned not to let your children stand or play on these... I have no idea what some people are using these for - but they are MADE FOR STORAGE OF YOUR SHOES!?!?!? Oh - and another reviewer also exclaimed surprise that the box did not include a hammer and screwdriver – seriously? I guess his butler must have been off that day. : ) Some reviews here complain that the back of the finished product is not actually finished - just pressed board showing. I don't understand this complaint at all. If you have them in the closet against the wall - you can not see the backs at all. Even if you have them out in an open room - I would assume they will still be against a wall - so what is the problem? The only problem I have – as being a woman with high heels as well as flats – most heeled shoes – especially higher ones will not fit in the slots. Flats, sneakers, most sandals – great. Even for lower heals or maybe higher heels but in a sling back style or something – again no issue. For the higher heeled sturdier shoe – they just won’t fit. I wish they would make one “for the women” – it would be very helpful. Seriously – one that may be a bit higher just for the women would be GREAT! For now – my highest heels either sit on the closet floor next to the shelves – or I put them on the top of the units once stacked. Still a great product. And it is very helpful that they offer different widths as well – and different color finishes!

I used this product as a desktop riser, and I have no complaints about it. It is solidly built and assembly is very simple. The product comes in four pieces: the two main side boards and the middle shelves. The back is left unfinished, and it is rough and unsightly, but it is not a problem when it is places against a wall or other furniture. The shelves are held in to the side supports by thick and long wood screws. The shelves can hold quite a bit of weight. I was able to but a large TV monitor on top of it, and it only bowed a little bit. It gives me a lot of extra space on my desk. Pros: • Low price • Large size • Sturdy Cons: • Wood sheets not for heavy use, held only by 4 screws • No rubber feet at base, so it is prone to slipping.

Update : 3/29/2016 I am dropping a star. I had bought two of these and both have broken by adults who "accidentally" stepped/stat on it. While its ok as a closet organizer. I no longer recommend this as a shoe rack. What caused me to drop a star was Con (1) detailed in my review original review below. When it disintegrates (which it will sooner than later if anywhere outside a closet), the screws are exposed and the sharp ends point up. One of my guests had a narrow escape from getting "screwed". I was looking for a inexpensive option for a shoe rack/bench to be placed by the entry door. My requirements besides the inexpensive part were 1. be able to hold 6-8 pairs of mens shoes (size 10+ ) 2. under 32 inches wide 3. bench style , so that kids can sit on it to take their shoes off or put them on This closet organizer was almost perfect. Heres the good and the bad Pros: 1. Very easy to put together. 2. Its dirt cheap and I didnt have to step out of the house :) 3. Meets requirements 1&2 above perfectly. Its meets 3 but I'd have to caveat it (see cons) 4. Looks nice. There are tiny screw caps included so that the screws/screw holes are not visible Cons : 1. The primary draw back is that the top slab goes between the two "legs" and is held there by 2 screws on each side. It would have been better if the top slab sat on top of the two legs instead. This would have been a sturdier design, allowing the "bench" to carry more weight. so Kid under 50 lbs sitting on the "bench" may be ok in the short term. But it certainly cant tolerate an adult. Although to its credit it will disintegrate if an adult accidentally sat on it but was quick to get up. But hey, its a closet organize designed to be stacked and with shoes, clothes etc put on it and not a bench with an adult on it. So I can see why they chose the current design. But placing two pieces of plants in the center of the shelves, would still give it more strength without compromising on the stack-ability. 2. The screw caps do not sit flush once they have been put on. There is a tiny gap between the cap and the side the side of the plank. This is a design flaw with a very very easy fix 3. The screws don't sit flush on the plank. Again a minor design flaw with an easy fix. But the above are really minor cons. If you are reading this review that means the basic specs meet your requirements and you are obviously interested. Go ahead click buy :)
