i love this mascara. i usually get it in brown because it looks a little more natural. i briefly tried a waterproof tubing mascara, hated it, and went right back to using this. this mascara isn't clumpy & spreads eyelashes out while lengthening them. looks gorgeous & lasts for a long time.

I bought this after trying a sample of high impact in black and lamenting about the price. But unfortunately this mascara is SO worth the cost. It applies so perfectly without being heavy - it feels like youâre not wearing anything. It separates and lengthens without smearing under your eyes. The color is better than I could have imagined. It really makes my blue eyes pop but doesnât look out of the ordinary. It washes off cleanly but only when youâre ready. It doesnât flake under my eyes for that dreadful raccoon look - itâs so hard to find a non-waterproof mascara that does this. Sometimes it can go for some reapplication later in the day/night but doesnât clump when you do that. It looks just like another layer. Iâm sad that itâs not cheap but hopefully the tube lasts a while.

I had put off buying this for months, but when my usual mascara (LancĂ´me definicils) was nearly empty and it was time to reorder, I decided it was time to try this one. I chose it because I'm a natural strawberry blonde, and the black honey has a reddish brown hue to it. I was hoping it would look more natural. However, like even my usual mascara, it's too dark to notice much of a difference (I always buy brown). I'm also not crazy about the brush. LancĂ´me's definicils has a thinner, stiffer brush that helps me get all the way to the lash line (my lashes are long, but nearly clear/invisible in color) and the brush doesn't yield when I wiggle it through my lashes to get the entire upper and lower lashes completely coated like this one does. It's just too flimsy/floppy. That said, the color isn't BAD, per se, it's just not light enough to show the richness of the reddish brown that I was looking for. The formula is also creamy and comes off with just a little water and a gentle tug (I'm pretty sure this is a tubing mascara from the way it came off). It doesn't rub off easily or settle under my eyes like cheaper mascara, but it really doesn't hold up when compared to the ones at the same price point. It's not a terrible mascara; it just isn't worth the money, because there are better mascaras for the same price (or less, even). I just wish it has been a little lighter in color, because when it's worn, the "black honey" just looks...well...black. Clinique already makes this mascara in black; that's not what I was looking for. Why bother making a different color at all if it's not going to actually look different? Listen to your customers; if they want brown, give them brown - not just another black mascara.

Mascara Review: Disappointing Results Despite the Hype âââââ (3/5 Stars) I had high hopes for this mascara after seeing so many positive reviews, but unfortunately, it just didnât work for me. Formula & Application: The formula felt a bit too wet right out of the tube, which made application messy and prone to clumping. I found it hard to build volume without my lashes sticking together. Even with just one coat, it was easy to go from defined to spidery very quickly. Brush Design: The brush was a let down. I ended up with smudges on my eyelid almost every time I applied it. Wear & Performance: This mascara didnât hold a curl well, and after a few hours, I noticed some flaking under my eyes. It wasnât terrible, but I expect better longevityâespecially for the price. Smudging wasnât a major issue, but the overall wear just felt underwhelming. Removal: On the bright side, it came off easily with micellar water and didnât irritate my eyes. Thatâs one of the few things I appreciated. Final Thoughts: This mascara might work for someone looking for a more natural look or who has naturally thick lashes, but it just didnât deliver the volume or definition I was looking for. I wonât be repurchasing, but it wasnât a total failâjust not the right fit for me.
