  • Essential for Finished Basement
Size: 1,500 Sq. Ft
The media could not be loaded. Excellent unit that keeps our 600 sq ft finished basement dry and comfortable. While not exactly quiet (none of them are), its noise level is easy to ignore. I ran flex tubing from its drain spout through a wall and into to our AC unit's condensation pump. No more having to empty the tank. I used a hose end adapter with 3/8" barb ($6 on Amazon vs. $12 at Lowes) and 1/2" OD, 3/8" ID clear flex tubing. As long as the water doesn't flow uphill, the tubing can be as long as you need it to be. ... show more

  • Game changer
Size: 1,500 Sq. Ft
I moved into a house with an unfinished (as in, the walls go up halfway and the rest is just dirt) basement that I really wanted to be able to use for storage. I didn't think it seemed particularly dank down there, but this dehumidifier is WILD. It now lives in the sink so it can drain (no drains on the floor, so a hose wouldn't really work for the setup), but prior to that we were emptying it several times a day, which to me indicates that it's really doing its job! It runs 24/7 and now drains directly into the sink. Especially during the summer, there's a stark difference between the upstairs and basement as far as humidity. If you're reading this review, I'm guessing you're looking for a dehumidifier, or perhaps just mulling over the idea. My advice - get a dehumidifier! This one is affordable and works well. I love it. ... show more

  • Reduced my home’s humidity fast!
My 25-year-old, two-story, slab house is less than 1400 square feet. There is one HVAC unit in the attic. Humidity levels are a problem in the summer and have hit 70% in the past. I've learned that this is dangerous for a house's structure and human health. I found this unit via Energy Star's 2021 most efficient dehumidifier list. Its 1.9 efficiency rating is one of the highest for a freestanding dehumidifier. While I have less than 3,000 square feet, I needed a unit to work efficiently and quickly to reduce the humidity level in my house. A safe level for the summer is 50-55%, and this unit got it there fast. I positioned it downstairs near the stairs in an open area. It’s in the same room as the downstairs HVAC return, and the upstairs return is offset from the top of the stairs. It has worked incredibly well to impact my entire home including the two upstairs bedrooms with closed doors. I tested its effectiveness by moving a small hygrometer to different rooms and watching my thermostat's humidity level. I unboxed and plugged this dehumidifier in on May 25. The air felt drier within hours. I kept it on Turbo mode for the first several days. As a result, I emptied the bucket two to three times a day and saw a quick decrease in the overall humidity. The one downside to this and any dehumidifier is that it generates heat, especially when in Turbo mode. Once the house's humidity was at or below 55%, I turned Turbo mode off, and I adjust the unit's level manually to keep it in the desired range. On low humidity days, I switch it to Comfort mode. Frankly, I liked this unit so much, I convinced my mom to buy one for her old house. ... show more

  • Works very well, very small tank
Size: 1,500 Sq. Ft
Removes a lot of moisture from the basement. However, the tank is very small and must be emptied every day (not a big problem for me). Easily attached a drain hose for when we were gone a couple a days. Fan is a little louder than I hoped, even on low speed, but not a big problem. Very easy to move around, easy to set up and use. Have only had for one season, so can't speak to long term durability, but holding up well so far. ... show more

  • 2 years - still working
I've had mine 2 years, and still works good. I grow pot and during the bloom season, it gets wet. This unit keeps the humidity pretty much at bay. Only problem is it uses 400 wh+, but I can fill a 3 gallon bucket in a day easily.. Amazing how I can get water from air.

  • Works well
Pretty efficient! Brought the humidity in my basement from mid to high 60s down to about 32% within 24 hours, not even using the turbo function. I do have some gripes about it, though. I don't like that I can't tell how full the bucket is. Part of it is clear, so technically you can check the level but good luck making anything out. Feel like you should be able to light that up so you can see it better, much like my humidifier does. It also doesn't appear to turn itself off once the desired humidity level is reach. I've got it set to 40%, and it's reading 34%, but it's still churning away. Feel like that's wasting a ton of electricity. What's even the point of choosing a humidity level then? Seems like the "continuous" button is pointless if it's just going to keep running. Guess I'll have to fool with the timer on it. Overall though, for the price I paid (165$), seems like a pretty good bargain given the size and the energy star rating. Lots of 35 pint options out there that cost considerably more and usually are double the wattage without any extra features. ... show more

  • Most energy efficient on low with the confort setting
I could not get the right humidity setting, when I first turned it on it was at about 65% humidity. I set the the dehumidifier setting at 45% and the fan on turbo, after 2 weeks of running I dropped the humidity level down to 40% but it just keep running and didn't cycle. I read another review and they set theirs to 50% so I tried it and then the compressor and fan would cycle on and off like it should. If you use the comfort setting and the fan on low it will keep it around 50% humidity and make the unit more energy efficient. The book does not tell you this, and is a little vague at best! I did send a email to customer support, but their answer was as vague as the book, go figure! I do like the garden hose hook up, Overall this unit seems to be pretty good and a good value at the $200.00 level, only time will tell! ... show more
