This stand is exactly what I needed. I’m now able to use a shotgun mic out of frame in my videos using this stand. The build quality is great, the base is weighted, and the height and boom reach are perfect for sitting position when recording videos. Highly recommended!

I was impressed with how study and heavy this stand was. The hydrologic adjustment of height is cleaver but ours did not hold it's position. But there is an adjustment on the bottom of the tube and when we turned it COUNTERCLOCKWISE it seemed to tighten the hydrologic so it held its height.

After 20 years of abuse, it was time to replace a trusty DR-brand boom stand. I bookmarked a new one, came back a day later, found the price had jumped and decided to shop it. This thing is incredibly durable & gig/road worthy. It needs to be, since it gets hauled around and used in different venues, some with smaller stages where lightweight stands get bumped around. Materials and design are top-notch. The included gig bag is a nice touch; It keeps the stand from getting scratched up in the bigger bag-o-stands (all the other stands look like they've been weaponized in some kind of protracted battle). Will be ordering another soon to replace a 2 year old cheaper brand that's already on its last leg. Highly recommended for anyone who wants their gear to last.

I just bought this stand and hooked it up today, it does pretty much everything I want. It's sturdy feeling, the connection to the boom is solid, it's stable and has an adjustable counterweight for the boom. My only complaint is that the height (operated with the one-handed clutch) isn't quite as solid. Picking up and moving the stand by the upper section extends the height and putting a moderate amount of weight on it, like pressing with your hand can push it down without the clutch being disengaged.

I've been through several mic stands and they have failed after a short time. This one seems very sturdy and when it's all tightened up it is stable. It arrived with a small piece broken off, but I don't think it will affect the performance. See the picture.
