This clear tarp is ideal for covering a small area. I appreciate the reinforced edges for durability, and the grommets for installation. Yes, we all want to know what is under the cover. This tarp serves that purpose. I had the intention of using this tarp outdoor for a small area. On the second thought, I decided not to because it is thin and I did not find any description on whether it is UV resistant . I got this tarp because (1) it wasn't huge and therefore it would be simple to store, (2) it's clear which means that no matter what I covered with this tarp I would always know at a glance what I left under there and, (3) I knew that this would come in handy. And I was right. A week after receiving the tarp an order of cat litter was delivered. The cat litter was for our local town animal shelter. Ten 40-pound bags of cat litter! I spent awhile opening each box, breaking the boxes down, and stacking the bags. Later in the day my husband planned to place the bags in his pick-up truck to deliver to the shelter. Thirty minutes later it started to rain! Four hundred pounds of cat litter sitting in my driveway. I ran for this tarp. The tarp was just the right size for me to easily handle it and cover the ten bags of litter. Take it from me - having a tarp like this on hand is always a good thing! ... show more

    • Good alternative to plastic sheeting to block the winter wind on hutch.

During winter, I typically find myself securing plastic sheeting around one or all sides of my rabbit hutch with a rope and rocks. However, adjusting it for warmer days can be quite a hassle. This tarp is a good replacement for the sheeting as it fits neatly and grommets make it easy not only to attach it to the wood hutch, but also to open and close the covering. No more rocks and rope! It's a bit pricier than plastic sheeting, but may not hold up any longer since it is on the thin side. I'd like to see one with a higher mil thickness. Threw this over a raised bed to save some freshly-germinated seedlings from a sudden light frost. Arrived just in time for my needs, thankfully, and it saved the day. Might try using it to solarize a garden bed and see if it kills weed seeds. Quality seems solid, not sure how well it would handle extreme cold (-10 or worse); I've had similar material crack and tear in those temperatures. Haven't had any problems yet, but wanted to warn future buyers that they'd maybe need something different for such an extreme. ... show more

Not sure how they call this heavy duty, it is not. The material is really no thicker than a ziplock freezer bag. It will provide protection for awhile but won't be a long term solution.
