They work pretty well in the espresso machine I have, I did some pre-brushing and cleaning first though. Hard to say if it is much better than some DIY cleaner like baking soda or something. Convenient, though.

This is a nice alternative to the better known brands in cleaning my espresson machine. It comes in several tablets and is bigger than the regular ones that I used which is really a bargain! It took me 3 cycles for a through cleaning. Was thinking if just putting half of the tablet is sufficient enough. I like that it is free of chlorine. Chlorine normally causes build up of deposits in the machine. This tablets definitely removes coffee grease and residue! Worth a try! ... show more

If you do not descale and clean your espresso machine at the right time, it will lead to mineral and sludge buildup. Also, a clean machine is key to getting a great cup of coffee. Espresso machines are pretty difficult to clean, so using this cleaning tablet can be a huge help. Since it is made with natural ingredients, you do not have to worry about the corrosion of your espresso machine. The tablets do a decent job of cleaning the interior, but I will probably have to repeat the process more frequently than I anticipated. ... show more

    • Seem to Work Ok
I've used similar tablets in the past with my coffee makers and they all seem to work about the same. A little more convenient than vinegar just in that I only have to run one additional cycle of water through for it to be cleaned out, but I wouldn't say it necessarily does a better job than vinegar. It cleans some of the major coffee stains in the pot and basket and seems to help with mineral buildup in the water reservoir but it will not make everything sparkling clean. I can still scrub and get additional coffee oils off of my filter with a brush, but this is a good maintenance item to have on hand just to help keep buildup of oils and mineral deposits from happening. Since I'm using these in a coffee maker and in the reservoir I crush the tablets up first because it takes them too long to devolve otherwise if hot water isn't pouring directly on them. These will last me awhile even if I just use one a month so they're worth having on hand. ... show more

I’m using these CleanHike cleaning tablets with my Philips espresso machine. They’re about double the size of the Philips tablets, which had me a little concerned at first, but they work just as well, if not better. The only downside I’ve noticed is that the tablets don’t fully dissolve. This doesn’t cause any issues with my machine, since anything leftover just ends up where the coffee grounds go, but now I just break the tablets in half and use half a tablet per cleaning. I don’t mind this, since it doubles the cleanings that I can get out of these tablets. They were already a good value, and now even more so. I just wish they were already half the size so that I didn’t have to break them up. That aside, I’m very happy with the value and performance of these CleanHike cleaning tablets. ... show more
