Description
For a finished and seamless look that elevates the style in any room, the ClassicFlame 36" traditional built-in electric fireplace insert, 120 Volt, is designed as an alternative to a wood burning fireplace and provides a beautiful and affordable substitute for a gas insert. Featuring a traditional log set, this insert comes with a multifunction remote control and integrated junction box for hard-wire applications. The fixed, tempered glass panel helps to give the look of a built-in fireplace, while the total surround flange allows for flush mounting to finished wall surfaces. The insert can provide supplemental zone heating up to 400 square feet and can be used with or without heat for year-round enjoyment. The on-screen function indicator lights up when operated to display heater and flame effect settings.

Although I have not installed it yet, I just plugged it in to see what it is like, and I really like it. My installer is nearly finished. I had a Victorian mantle, so the installer had to build the rest. It is going to be so pretty with Christmas decorations. It does supply some heat, enough to heat my family room, flame control is nice, and the timer is great. A little pricey, it is a large size, not one of 23 inches. I had to have the 36 inch one. I would recommend this one. My daughter now wants one. Make sure you order the 110 and not 220 if you want to use it regular current.

Have just about had this a year now. Starting to use it again this year. This fit great where a wood burning insert was in my fireplace. Chimney is bad. I had to put some weather stripping around edges to fill small gap and sea it. Flames look better then most. But not mind blowing. Puts off some okay heat. Love the timer and options. Also had to buy longer cord. No big deal. Only wish it was cheaper. Lol. I'm waiting on my new phone to come in mail and I will post short video and high quality pics.

We purchased this to put in our fireplace we were building for our bedroom and it looks stunning! It keeps our room so warm. Love that it has the the thermostat so I can set it and it’ll shut on and off when needed. I also love that I can turn it on without the heat. There’s no better feeling then being snuggled up in bed watching a movie while the fires one. For a faux fire it looks good. We get so many great compliments on it!!

Works great leave enough space to access side screws

Purchased in 2017 has worked well ever since. Only issue is we had contractor install it for us and left it installed for tile subcontractor to tile around. Looks amazing, issue though is tile got flush with the edges so we cannot access the screws on the sides to drop the glass down to clean the inside nor can we remove the unit without smashing the glass if it stopped working. Puts out plenty of heat, looks great and has worked all throughout the years. Had read reviews prior to purchasing, review said wait for this unit to go on sale, believe we purchased ours around $300 five or take $50, not sure if this goes on sale but would be patient if you have time.

Does not have longevity - Don't buy

I contacted Classicflame and they said they'd send me the part to fix the unit and it never showed up. The unit won't turn on now after only no more than 30 uses. Rarely turned on in the winter - heater was never used as a heat source ( it blows out a little, but not enough to heat a room )- just used the fireplace for the visual affect. Cost is way over priced for something that won't last - I'd find another product and would not recommend this unit. The look of it is pretty, it does look somewhat real - but the logs don't really light up as much as I had expected. The customer service was very very poor... especially after waiting on hold for nearly an hour, to then be disconnected and try again to be told they'd send the part - that never showed up. This fireplace was only used 30 times. I've looked around to see what else is out there and for the price found much much much better - with customer service that responds.

This review is for the Traditional version of this product. It seems that the reviews are lumped together with the LED version as well, so I wanted to make clear what my review is for. I purchased this after spending quite a bit of time searching for one of this dimension and price point. I'm a do-it-yourselfer which can sometimes get me in trouble. When I built our den many years ago, I had created a cubby hole in the wall with the bright idea of putting in the large projection screen tv we had at the time. It was awesome... until the TV eventually died and all the new LED/LCD flatscreen units were popular and cheap. Now I've got this big gaping hole in the wall where the TV once lived. What to do with it? We thought for a while and my wife came up with this idea. I knew I married her for a reason! Anyway, ordered this unit. It arrived very quickly and in excellent shape. No damage and well packed. Once I got it out of the box, I realized I had a winner. This thing is built to last. I built a 2x4 frame to fit the hole and mounted the unit. Now I'm in the process of building a nice front for it to make it look like it was meant to be there all along. The remote works great and I love the thermostat to control the heat setting. It works well in the 14x24 room and takes the chill right out of the air. We're looking forward to get the finishing done. I'll come back and post a picture or two when I'm done. PS: If you're not in a hurry, keep an eye on the price. It seems to vary quite a bit and you can catch it on sale here on Amazon from time to time to save quite a bit.

It's a good one

I've owned this for almost 2 years now so I can give some half decent perspective. Shipping was great, on time and no missing parts. Unit looks great, nice and wide, lots of glass area for viewing. I put it into a wall unit I built so I was able to do a custom opening etc. Overall I am pleased but a couple of points: 1. It is not that bright. Even at full brightness, it's low key. That means it is not in your face noticeable. I think that's ok actually, but during daytime use it's hard to see. 2. Heater function is a little subpar. I don't ever use it so I don't care but it is loud and smelly when it runs (we only have the 110 version, the other one maybe be better). 3. I had to replace the motor. When I first got it, I would turn it on (no heat) and a loud whirring clicking noise could be heard. It eventually got louder until we could not use it anymore. Called service who pretty promptly mailed me a new one. I put it in which took 1/2 hr and again made noise. They shipped me another one which I have not done yet but it seems the noise is gone down Uyere

We bought this to add it to a built in fireplace wall we are building. This electric fireplace exceeded our expectations!! We set it up just to make sure it was working properly and it was. My husband said was easy to set up. I was nervous to buy an electric fireplace online and with it also being a fraction of the cost compared to a walk in store but I was pleasantly surprised at the the quality! Totally worth the money spent. Once we finish building the fireplace I will update this with a picture.
