It has only been about two weeks since we received this mattress, but we have found the previous excellent reviews to be accurate. I bought this mattress for my young adult daughter. She likes a soft mattress and has found this to be very comfortable. It feels firm with the coil underpinning, but sleeps soft. I have not slept on it, but the foam layer actually does feel cool to the touch. I plan to check this out myself one night to see if it actually does sleep cool, but my daughter is very cold natured so I wasn't really worried about this for her. The covering is very high quality and after removing mattresses without carry straps, I really appreciated them in getting the bed situated on the frame. It also arrived about a week earlier than Classic Brands indicated it would. I'm not sure if Classic Brands is packaging this differently than when the early reviewers received theirs, but we were really disappointed that we didn't get any of the excitement mentioned by previous reviews. The box was slightly damaged, but the inner plastic coverings were in perfect condition. It came with two layers of regular plastic covering and an inner, thick plastic that compressed the mattress. The shipping company would have to really abuse this box when shipping to get the compressed mattress dirty, in my opinion. We situated the mattress roll on the bed and then carefully removed the first two layers. That left us with the inner plastic that slowly unrolled until we had the compressed mattress flat on the frame. After cutting the thick inner plastic, the mattress slowly inflated. We were all standing around waiting for it to explode open, but all it did was slowly inflate. We were quite disappointed! Given how it was packaged, the only way I could see for any explosive openings would be if you quickly cut through ALL the layers at one time. The mattress was almost completely expanded within a few hours and by the end of 48 hours, it was completely reformed. I measured the height and it was a true 12 inches. If you measured right at the very edge where the seam is, it was slightly less, but if measured a little away from where the edge pulled the topper together, it was the full size advertised. There was a little smell that you often get outgassing from new textiles, but the smell was pretty much gone after a couple of days. I do agree that the purchaser should plan on the mattress needing two or three days before sleeping on it. If I had been willing to shop at several different locations, I might have been able to find a good mattress at a slightly cheaper price, but the ease of having this delivered to the door in a "small" roll was rather nice. Given the look and feel of this mattress, I have high hopes that it will last for a good number of years. We'll see.

I recently purchased these mattresses for bunk beds in my guest bedroom. I wanted to find something affordable yet still comfortable for when friends and family come to visit. These mattresses have been a great choice so far! For the price, the quality is excellent. The mattresses provide a good level of comfort and support. They are not too soft or too firm, but seem to hit that sweet spot in between that makes for a restful night's sleep. My guests have consistently remarked on how well they slept when staying in my guest room. The mattresses fit the bunk beds perfectly and don't shift around. I appreciate that they are durable enough to hold up to repeated use. Even after several months, they haven't started to sag or develop indentations. I would highly recommend these bunk bed mattresses to anyone looking for an affordable, yet still comfortable, option for outfitting a guest room or kids' bedroom. The quality rivals more expensive mattress brands but at a fraction of the price. Based on my experience so far, these mattresses deliver an amazing value for the money. I'm glad I took a chance on this lesser-known brand because I've been extremely happy with the purchase.

A quietly quality company's single twin unit solid feel still since 7/11. When it came to me in its heavy box for less than 220 (might spell knock off in light of the competitions fancy self name calling) Add 800 dollar minimum tags.. only to disappear next year. They were the newest kitsch then, wow! talk of the town and now sold in other coutries or out of business or at best being pushed in a dingy special bed warehouse you need an appointment to visit, then you are grossed out when there. Full disclosure now if it sounds like l know too much.. I had in fact been shopping for 3 years + a degree of awe screw it buy something man was there, but l shop like a mother, My Mother and she didn't get used very much may she rest in peace. The gauge of and pocketed springs show the old time commitment to doing things right. Side stability good which indicates a strong build as does the weight. Beware the box is a heavy and also bed will uncoil like a cobra strike so carefully plan. Dream of angels in it, its a good bed

I have slept on this mattress every night for 6 months now. It expanded to the full 12" thickness in less than an hour. It never had a strong smell like some reviews mention. I examined it very carefully today while putting on a new mattress protector, and there is no hint of sagging/deflating of the foam or springs. It is a bit firmer than my previous mattress which cost $1500 from a major department store, but I find that it is more comfortable. The edges don't sink when I sit on the edge. It doesn't even bother me that it now costs $90 less because it was still a great value when I purchased it. I was contemplating buying another one for a spare just in case it didn't hold up, but I now realize it will not need replacing for many years. Honestly, I don't understand how anyone could find a negative thing to say about this mattress. Update: approaching the two year mark with every night use. Still looks and performs like a new mattress. Still love it! 3 year update: still has the look and comfort of a new mattress! Anytime I hear someone say they are shopping for a new mattress, I recommend this one. You could spend thousands on a mattress, if you want, but there is no way it will be more comfortable and durable than this one. 5 year update: still no spring sagging or foam breakdown, looks like new and as dreamy comfortable as it was 5 years ago. I sleep on it every night and lounge on it on my days off as I prefer the comfort over my sofa. I added a feather mattress topper to make it even cozier.

Honestly surprisingly good quality for a lower tiered priced mattress. I love the top- it’s just plush enough to contour but the springs are extremely strong. It didn’t even have a “chemical smell” once opened- and I left it in the box for 2 days after delivery. We opened it and slept on it 10 minutes after wrestling with the crocodile of a box. The packaging is a b**** to get through. SO much plastic wrap. But I mean, it was protected well. It’s approx 12” but not fully, but you’d never be disappointed. If you prefer a box spring I’d say get a shorter one or not at all. It’s a practical height. I would most definitely order again. 1YEAR UPDATE: we love it so much we’re upgrading to a king. Going with the low profile box spring because I like how the mattress feels when fully supported by the box spring underneath. The firmer it sits the better it holds and contours. I will say finding sheets for this bad boy has been a struggle because it is a deep set mattress, so after one wash if you’re not careful to perm press your sheets, they’ll shrink to juuuust too small to fit over the corners anymore. So we’ve ripped a couple sheet corners wrestling it on. But mattress wise we are IN LOVE. We’re excited to put this queen in the spare room because we think guests will enjoy it too, no doubt. I would recommend. I would also recommend buying through amazon. We found it on Walmart.com and Wayfair, but amazon has the best price, best return policy by far, and if you don’t get it, they’re super helpful. It wasn’t worth the gamble. And it’s cheapest on amazon.

*UPDATED* I was skeptical about buying a mattress in a box. The mattress came vacuumed sealed and rolled up. It was easy to unwrap for it to expand. It expanded right away and became soft in about 36 hours. It did did have a smell as most memory foam products do. Airing out for a couple of days gets rid of the smell. The mattress has coils as well as get memory foam making it supportive. It’s a bit on the medium/firm side but the pillow top memory foam makes it comfortable. The price was right for a hybrid. Bought the queen for my son After almost 2 months of my son sleeping on this mattress I ordered a king for me and my husband. I unrolled it and aired it out for a few days. The chemical smell was much stronger than the first mattress. I put it on the bed frame and realized within a few nights that it’s too firm for my liking. I added my old memory foam toppers and that helped. Still not perfect but for $500 I’m not going to complain too much. It’s been 3.5 weeks and this mattress still has a chemical smell. Because of that I’m changing my 5 stars to 3.

I LOVE THIS BED! After sleeping on a waterbed for over 30 years, I was extremely leary about buying a different kind of mattress. I visited assorted stores to find out what would be a good substitute. I have many physical problems and was always most comfortable on a waterbed. I found an all foam was not comfortable, it forced my back down into it causing a lot of pain. A regular spring mattress wasn't soft enough and caused my hips' bursitis to be worse than it was. Then I came across a hybrid with a low Pillow-Top. This was really comfy. Next I needed to find the best deal. I do a lot of research before buying anything. So I did this for this type of mattress and found comparable items with different prices. I came across Classic Brands and was impressed with their 10 year warranty with a full 3 years of coverage prior to prorating. All other brands I saw offered only 1 full year before prorating with either 10 or 20 years. I also found out Classic Brands make mattresses for many other companies who then sell under a different brand name. I decided to go with the Mercer model. And I'm very glad I did! It has an extremely soft plushy Pillow-Top which doesn't aggravate my bursitis. I just melt right into it. The firmness underneath gives me the support I need for my back. And it came at a great price! My husband loved it too. So I ordered another for him. Compare the Classic Brands Mercer to other overpriced, name branded, similar mattresses, and I'm sure you'll be just as satisfied & comfortable with the Mercer without spending 3 to 4 times more. You'll feel like you're sleeping on cloud 9!
