Love, love, love Citizen's Eco-Drive. Let me first explain that this is my 3rd Eco-Drive watch. My first one lasted 15 years. I bought one soon after and then bought this one (it was on sale). I am a female but I love the size of the men's watches simply because as I get older, my eyesight isn't what it used to be and on this watch, you can see the numbers clearly. It also 'glows' in the dark!...LOL. Another bonus if you in someplace where getting your phone out would create a disturbance. These are very sturdy, heavy watches. There is only one stem that you have to pull out to set the date and time, so setup is a breeze. I have never had an issue with the accuracy of this watch either. It has a silicone-type watchband that while a bit on the long side (small wrist), doesn't get in the way or bother me. So what is an Eco-Drive? These watches only require light to function....sunlight, light in a room, etc... No battery to change, nothing to plug in and charge. That is why I like them so much. Well made and high quality watch. I'm left handed and wear my watches on the left hand and having the offset crown makes this watch very comfortable to wear. The rubber band is a bit chunky but not a deal breaker here. I think this model is a perfect and affordable way to enter the solar watch field. ... show more

    • One thing I don’t like, but I knew it when I bought it.
I own other Citizen watches, I’ve got to say this one’s my favorite. The fit, the size, the overall appearance, all come together to make a great everyday watch. When you consider that I have had no issue with ANY Citizen watches over the years of ownership just adds to its appeal. The only reason I held at 4 stars is this… while it’s a good watch, it could be better. The bezel is NOT unidirectional. Do I use this feature? Yes I do… looks like for work I’ll wear another watch while I switch back to it around town. ... show more

This was my first eco drive type watch, and have wanted a solar type watch for a while. I like that I shouldn't need to change the battery for about 10 years. I like that this one has a unique style that doesn't look like most other watches. I also like that it's not flashy, but looks like a quality watch. The rubber type band it comes with is very comfortable, and even feels supple on my wrist. Much nicer than the hard rubber type band I had on another watch 20 years ago. What you see is what you get. This watch is very simple and probably has Citizen quality. The date window is absolutely useless. Make it bigger or don't add it. One of the missing stars is because of the date. Another because the illumination is almost non existent. Finally the price! And, no, this isn't my most expensive watch. I would put a reasonable price at 150 or less. If you think it's worth it then go for it!! Why do most watches that retail between 2-300 put the crappiest band on their product. I bought a leather band for 20. This watch is not extraordinary but has a clean look. The band is soft rubber and is comfortable. Ill keep it, but for 80-100 more could have had twice the watch. This is the second time that Citizen has got a spec wrong. The last time Amazon had the diameter wrong. This time the band width was wrong. Ciizen support said too bad. Check our website. Basically blaming me. Im sure Citizen sells a large % of their watches via Amazon and you'd think Citizen would strive to make it right. ... show more

This Citizen is a great looking watch that combines sportiness with an easy to read face. The price is also unbeatable. My wrist is 6.5 in (165 mm) and this watch fits well despite its case being over 41mm. The lugs are well positioned and the soft rubber strap stretches nicely offering a secure fit. The hands are beautiful and are well aligned with the numbers and minute indices. The face has a bit of a sunburst affect resulting in a radiance compliments the fixed bezel. The numbers appear to be painted but are raised, so they seem like they're applied. Only two minor quibbles: The crystal is nice, but domed sapphire would be better (obviously) and the date window is a little small. This watch still earns 5 stars from me. ... show more
