It's just a strong box, not a safe & worth the price. It fit the console, but like some others I did have to cut out (or enlarge) the hole in the front to go around the power receptacle, for me that was no big deal, if you don't have some basic tools it might be. It bolted right in, but since the factory screw's are recessed and the box will be flush with the inside of the console I did cut two rubber spacers to fill in that area where the screw's go thru because I torqued them down and didn't want to maybe break the plastic console. The box will not stop a thief but will likely slow them down a bit. I may supplement the thin metal with additional steel plates in order to beef it up a bit. I was concerned that the console safe would require some alteration but was a perfect fit. The screw holes aligned perfectly and the opening for the USB plug is adequate. Installed in my '21 Tacoma OR. Installation took maybe 10 minutes, fits perfect. Does the job of storing/locking firearm while at work. Better than locking in the plastic glove box. Metal box but I wouldn't trust leaving valuables overnight or long period just temporarily. It isn't a super sturdy steel construction. Use alongside Ring Auto, the Club to keep my truck safe.     • Fits with Slight Modification
This is exactly what I wanted, just a simple and cheap lockbox deterrent. The only problem is the hole on the side for the USBs. This is not a big deal if you have a grinder or Dremel, which I did. If you don't have power tools to modify the hole don't buy.

Wow, believe this or not I will not care. I installed this 3/4 days ago. Installation was meh.. the hole for the USB-A ports do not align (that’s fine if you own an angle grinder). That’s not why I write this review. Yesterday evening I was bringing up groceries from my car into my apartment (multiple trips) and decided to leave my car unlocked for 10 minutes (in my complex parking garage). Some homeless thief was apparently living/staying in the stairwell nearby in the garage. I come back down from the elevator and see my Tacoma bed lights on, and a shadow moving in the car. I confronted the thief and had him dump everything. After forcing him out of the garage, I come back and see the safe was open (it was locked). A simple flathead and this bad boy pried right up. Now, I will say it (may) have took him a little bit of time. As you can see in the photos there are a few different spots he attempted. Essentially just shoving the screwdriver under the lid and prying allowed the latch to bend just slightly for it to open. The odds of this happening two days after install is still beyond me right now. What I will say is this: I think the fit of the metal is great as it is flush. I will be looking to increase the security by replacing to a stronger, keyless lock, and finding a way to cover the slit so you can’t wedge anything under the lid. I might be stupid to just not return this.. so do with this review as you may. ... show more

    • Nice for the price
I just couldn't warm up to big bucks for a safe, so I tried this one. Single-walled, basic lock. I wanted a key rather than combination - it seemed like ti would be awkward to twist my body enough to view the combo lock, put on my reading glasses and manipulate the dials. The tolerances of this safe are pretty good - it would be tough to get a screwdriver or pry bar between the door and the body. I saw from other reviews that the USB ports might be partially covered, so I expected that. I used a grinder to open the hole a little, and after that the install was easy. There are more secure safes out there, but this is great for the price. ... show more

    • It's a lockbox, not a safe
Although both the manufacturer and I consider it more of a lockbox than a safe, it is well enough designed and built to do the job. It fit well in my 2018 TRD Sport, meaning the cutout aligned perfectly with the lighter socket. It took me a few tries to get the second of the two bottom bolts started, but they went in and secured the lockbox inside the console well enough. I would recommend this to anyone looking for some security from the potential smash and grab thug. ... show more

Could not be happier with this product!! Recommend gluing a magnet to the underside of arm rest to hold the lid up if you're on a downward incline. Great product and way cheaper than any of the others that cost $100+.
