King: Comfy and no more back pain! I received the topper a week ago. I did let it relax for 24 hrs. It had a slight odor for about 48 hours. I used febreeze on top of my sheets which helped significantly. One week later, no odor. My sheets fit over both mattress and 4 in topper. I have an older tempur- pedic mattress and was afraid I would have to buy a new one. As far as cooling, not sure about that yet. It is still cool at night, and I like it on the warm side. My husband & I decided to try this instead of buying a new mattress. It made our bed a bit higher. The mattress pad I purchased is the 4 inch. It is definitely squishy, but I like that comfort. It can be a bit of a task to turn over if you're elderly. This can also be a plus, (laying on your back is much healthier for those with any pain) therefore you're less likely to move around. There are straps on each corner that hold the pad onto your mattress. These tend to slide off. Not sure why, but they do, that's the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. I do find that when I am sleeping on my side, my pressure points, (hips, shoulder) are quite comfortable. Also, if purchasing, make sure you have deep pocketed fitted sheets. You'll need them when adding more height on your bed. So I guess if you're looking for a cheaper alternative to buying a new mattress, I would recommend this. ... show more

I bought this because we bought a new mattress and I've had surgery and thought I may need something to make it softer.. well I accidentally ordered the wrong size.. so when I tried to return it, they said it would cost $26 for shipping. So... my daughter now has it on her bed. She has been very happy. It really is as soft as they said.... it helps make your bed feel like there's a cloud on top. It did come with a terrible seafood type smell I had to open the windows for 2 days. Other than that we love it! ... show more

It seems the older I get, the harder my mattress becomes. I bought the 4" pad. It fluffed immediately upon opening, but I let it fluff overnight. The next day I put it on my mattress. It made a bit difference in height and a stepstool would make it easier to get into bed, lol. What a difference this pad has made in my life! I wake up so much more refreshed and no sore hips! You do have to allow time for it to bloom. It is very comfortable and thick. My body feels like I'm sleeping on a cloud. I highly recommend it if you are looking to purchase a mattress pad.
