  • A variation I like of an adaptable mobile phone mount
The media could not be loaded. Honestly I do not have a saxophone, but I do like the mobile phone mount idea that would allow a saxophonist to display their music sheet on a mobile phone so they could read it while they play. Sometimes if I see something that might work for another purpose and it’s something I need at the moment I’ll give it a try; maybe modify it or add to it to make it work for me, even if it’s a little crude. That’s what I’m doing here with this Saxophone phone holder. I removed the extension arm and added a 1” section of flexible PVC tubing to the mount; then attached the PVC tubing to the end of my Phone Camera Boom with a zip-tie. This so I can capture images beyond my arm’s reach. Yes, I know Drones can do that too . . . Bhuuut this is not about Drones and this idea works perfectly fine for my purpose. Upon working with this mount however there are two things I think could be improved: 1. The height of the side clamp grips could be higher to allow thicker phone cases to be gripped better.. 2. The foam/spongy padding on the inside of the clamp grips could be a little thicker, spongier foam allowing for a better grip of the phone. In the end this mount works for my purposes and will be using it to create more fun video clips. ... show more

  • Decent quality phone lyre with confusion
This saxophone phone holder actually works well once you get it set up. The materials feel sturdy. It’s more of a hard plastic than the flimsy bendy kind and it fits both my phone and my instrument securely. For basic use, it does exactly what is needed. My main issue is the confusing product description. It mentions “accessories” like there’s something extra included, but nothing additional came with mine (other than sandpaper). It also claims it can hold sheet music and even has a wall‑mount option, but I couldn’t figure out how any of that is supposed to work. There are no instructions, and the photos don’t explain those features at all. If you just want a straightforward phone holder, this one is decent quality and gets the job done. Just don’t expect the extra features the listing hints at, because they’re either unclear or nonexistent. ... show more

  • Didn't fit my phone or Alto Saxophone
I wanted to like this product. When I was in band I used to have the music displayed in a similar fashion but on laminated flip sheets. When I saw this, I was excited to move to an electronic format. The product arrives without instructions but, there are only a couple parts to assemble so, it isn't difficult to complete. Once assembled, I went to insert it into the standard slot on my Alto Saxophone and, it didn't fit. It's possible some shaving of the insert or stretching of the slot will do the trick, but that isn't what I want to have to do with a purchased product for a standard musical instrument. Next, I attempted to clip my phone into the holder. Again, it didn't fit. I have an iPhone and, even when I took it out of the otter box, it really won't go into the rigid frame for the phone. I still love the idea and, if you have a smaller phone and if you have a wider insert slot on your Sax, this might be a really good product for you. The quality seems good and the value for the price is right. Just not useable for my needs. ... show more

  • dont love it
There are a couple of problems with this. Some that are the fault of the product and some that are just problems with the idea. First the base is too big to mount in my sons saxaphone. That isnt a huge deal as I have a grinder and sanding equipment in the garage, but if you dont, this may be complely unusable. Second, it came with no instruction at all. My 11 year old struggled to try to get this together in the proper order. Something as simple as a printed picture with this could have saved some headache. Third the phone holder itself is a bit small. It worded for my sonse standard Iphone, but when I tried to put an iphone pro in, it didnt work, maybe the case was too big, not sure. The problem with the idea has more to do with screen size. In order to get sheet music there just isnt enough room to view it all. You are really able to get about 1 - 2 lines of music visible. From my experince you just end up trying to scan up the whole time. ... show more

  • Practical Sax Phone Holder That Makes Practicing So Much Easier
This is such a helpful little accessory if you use your phone while practicing. It attaches securely to the saxophone and keeps your phone at a comfortable viewing angle so you can follow music, metronomes, or recordings without constantly stopping. The adjustable design is really convenient because you can position it where it feels most natural while playing. Once it’s tightened, it feels stable and doesn’t shift around during use. I like that it’s compatible with different saxophone types, so it feels versatile for students or more experienced players. It makes practicing feel more organized and less distracting. It’s also lightweight, so it doesn’t make the instrument feel unbalanced or heavy, which is important during longer practice sessions or marching band use. A really practical music accessory that helps keep everything you need right in front of you while you play. ... show more

  • Lets me use my phone while playing
Putting it together was really intuitive I was able to do it in a few minutes. My phone feels secure and I don't worry about it falling. The mount is adjustable so you can use your phone in portrait or landscape it can be tilted up or down for a better view. The distance from my face is good I can see everything on my phone clearly and conveniently though it would be nice if there were a way to adjust the distance. It fit easily into the lyre holder I didn't need sandpaper to sand it down but it is there if you need it. ... show more
