We have two K-Cup coffee makers, a French press, and a large Saeco Espresso Italiano coffee machine. I guess you can tell we love coffee. I really like a dark rich espresso and my wife loves her café. The Saeco Espresso Italiano coffee machine makes a great espresso, grinds the beans, and discharges the used grounds but it is a more involved process and need to be cleaned each day after use. So since there is more involved we end up using it less. So I have less espresso and my wife has less café. This Chulux espresso coffee machine is small, simple, minimal maintenance required, and looks good. It is described as a Mini Espresso Machine and the size is prefect for a kitchen counter. It is now our go to espresso machine. The S1 button will create a small (40ml) espresso and the S2 button will create a default large (100ml) espresso. It has a preheat function, a power standby function, a descaling function, a drain function, and even a S2 button volume setting to adjust the larger volume from 30ml-200ml. Finally there is a factory reset if you need it. The Chulux espresso coffee machine only uses the original / classic Nespresso type capsules and not the larger Vertuo capsules but the original capsules are still widely available and with many flavor options. The pump (20 Bar) is powerful and quick. Temp is pretty good though I would have liked it a little hotter. The water tank holds 700ml and the capsule collection box holds about 9 capsules. The drip tray can swing up for taller cups and everything comes apart for easy cleaning. The machine works great. I took the machine out of the box, put it on the counter, and made my first cup. It did not work well at all and made an espresso which contained about a tablespoon of coffee. I had missed the note 2 on page 5 of the manual which says that if the machine is used for the first time please do not put a capsule in for the first brew but run only water. I should have known. You need to prime the pump. After running one brew of water only it has performed flawlessly and makes strong creamy espresso. In two words – Love it.

I picked up this espresso machine for my second floor home office kitchenette. I don't care for Keurig coffee, but I enjoy Nespresso shots. I keep a Huogary Milk Frother and Steamer 2-in-1 Milk Steamer on the counter with this unit for lattes and the occasional breve. I also drink herbal tea and cocoa made with hot water from the Chulux espresso machine (don't insert a coffee pod, just press the button). First: Brew a cup of water before using the machine to prime the pump. Second: The unit calls for genuine (expensive) Nespresso pods, but I use Amazon Brand - Solimo Espresso Capsules, Medium Roast, Compatible with Original Brewers, Pack of 1x50 Capsule (50 count). The capsule occasionally falls through to the used capsule storage, but usually works well. Third: The S2 button can be set to brew a full 200 ml cup (more like a coffee than espresso) which also provides the perfect amount of hot water for a tea bag or packet of hot chocolate if no capsule is inserted. The S1 button provides a 40 ml shot of strong, creamy espresso. Fourth: The water tank is a generous size and the loading pump works better than the DeLonghi machine I use at church. The cup stand flips up if desired, but I like to use vintage tea cups for my beverages. I particularly like that the cup stand and used cup holder are a single piece that pull in and out easily. On other brands, the two are separate and a little fiddly to get the correct placement. The unit has a descaling setting and the buttons can be returned to factory settings. Overall, an excellent design! Both the price and thoughtful design make this the ideal hot beverage machine for my home office. Highly recommended!

I'm really liking this CHULUX Bafè-Pro Espresso Machine. Operation is simple and the results are outstanding. It makes a wonderful expresso...I'm becoming addicted! The machine does not come with any coffee capsules. It was not clear to me what size capsules to order. "Mini Espresso Machine for Nespresso Original Capsules" is what the advert says. I was not sure what original CAPSULES meant...most of the adverts for the original capsules stated that they were "compatible with the original MACHINE". From what I have read and digest, there are just two types of Nespresso Capsules...Original and Vertuo. Vertuo capsules are larger and rounder and won't work with this machine. There is a blip on the advert that says "*Use the non-original capsules may not be catchable." That phrase is a bit nongrammatically correct...I believe they mean; "*Using non-original capsules may not be catchable when inserting them for brewing." I experienced this "fall through" during my first cup. I opened the lever on the top of the machine, took a brand new capsule (advertised as compatible with original machine) and placed it into the machine's capsule spot. When I let it go, it fell all the way through to the expelled capsules container. I did my first cup by taking out the expelled capsules container and placing my finger inside from that compartment. Then I could stop the capsule from falling through with my finger on the left hand and dropping the capsule from the top with my right hand. I was then able to get the hot water wand to align with the capsule and assure that it would brew properly. I believe that first attempt was just my learning curve. I do not experience the "fall through" now that I have used the machine and am use to it's workings. It's a very simple process to make a wonderful expresso. This machine is clean looking, easy to use and keep clean, and makes a great expresso in very little time.
