We purchased this for our western facing window. Our room gets super hot mid-afternoon so we needed a blackout shade to help prevent extra sun and heat from warming up the room. This shade does exactly that! It was super easy to install. The material is smooth and easy to clean with a damp cloth. It comess with a plastic handle that is connected to the bottom of the roller shade by a cord. It feels sturdy and doesn't feel like it will come loose, even with daily use. The size is perfect for our window. Make sure to measure your window before purchasing! This is a great value for the money. It appears to be well-made and does not feel cheap to touch. We have had compliments on the color. We have the light grey. We are very happy with this shade and we highly recommend it!

With white walls. Can hardly tell it’s there. The size fits perfect to what I chose. It’s simple and so easy to use. The roll up feature is great. Pull and lift one time and it goes up so smooth, looks automatic. It has about an inch from mounted that light still comes in. Not completely black out, but makes it pretty dark and holds some heat so your house isn’t so hot! Great for any room!

The shades seemed well made and moved smoothly. Easy to hang. I've had them 7 mos. and for the last 4 mos. they roll up crooked. They get caught up on one side and don't roll up completely so there's 3 inches that hang down. On the side that drags against the bracket it's starting to shred the shade.

These DO indeed function as blackout shades. That is critical when you have a night worker in the family who needs to block out these sunny days. The cut is a perfect fit for the window, no side peeking. And they help control the heat from getting in. They have a soft feel compared to our old ones, but are still firm enough to hold their shape nicely. One minor detail, the cord is a few inches off-center, so if you are sensitive to that you have time to check it out. I don't know whether we got an oddball fluke, but we have chosen to be amused by it and appreciate it's slightly wonky personality. The kids love it and would be heartbroken if we returned it. It gave us a good laugh, now we wouldn't trade it for the world. This is the first time I have had roller shades that never roll up crooked. I love them.

My husband and I have lived in our house for 19 years and always wanted and needed something to block out sunlight and possibly the heat where the toilet is. It's such a tiny space. We found this shade which matched our dimensions and it's cordless which I like. My husband installed it and did a great job. He said it was pretty easy. I can go in there without being blinded by the light. I can't say it reduces the temperature but I feel like it's gone down 2° We have a temperature gauge in there so that's how we know. Price was decent and looks great!

I ordered 5 of these total. A 50x72 & 38x72s. The product packaging was horrible. Busted to smithereens on the ends. One was missing its hardware. That's the one I exchanged. It was also the one that had the most damage to the shade. (Replacement came with broken packaging too and slight damage to the shade as well). They all had some damage at the end where the packaging was smashed but not bad enough to warrant the trouble of all the returns. Aside from all that, so far they're working fine. The total for all 5 was fairly inexpensive, which was my goal. However, it is unfortunate that each one has some slight damage. The blackout works well and the shades roll up/down easily.
