For outside mount, shade should be 4 - 6 wider than window frame, shade length should be at least 2 longer than the window length for better coverage.

    • Works well and easy to install
I had this product up in about 10 minutes after taking down the old blinds. It fits the window good and rests against the frame for a complete block out of the street light. It is in my son's room and he likes the chain instead of the pull down like the old ones. Only complaint is the plastic gear is kinda clunky and makes more noise than some other ones that I have seen. Guess next time I will research a bit more to find one with smoother rolling. Best advice I can give is to measure properly and like the description said, account for some gap to place the blackout shade into the clips. Mine went in perfectly. My window frame drywall was pretty worn so I needed to get some bigger screws to drill into the concrete but it's up and works perfectly. I'm happy with this purchase! ... show more

I got the 65” to cover bedroom window. It works exactly as described and I’m quite happy with the purchase. I found this design to be more effective than curtains, which leave more space for light to come through. That said, installation is not necessarily easy. The instructions say to just place the ends on the blind and then measure. Easier said than done. The spring-loaded end has tension so it does not stick to that end. This makes the measurement and leveling difficult for the large size if you are solo-ing installation. With some creativity it was workable though! ... show more
