I have assembled quite a bit of furniture, and have run into problems with included hardware breaking, but I have NEVER broken one (let alone THREE) screwdrivers assembling something. No stripped screws, no missing parts, and VERY straightforward to assemble with two people (although directions are a little interesting). My only dislike is the shallow drawer, which makes it difficult to fit larger items into. However it seems very well made, it was much heavier than I anticipated and I love it!

I read all the reviews before purchasing. I was kind of nervous since a lot of people didn't recieve all the parts. Upon arrival, I checked the instruction manual and laid out all pieces before I began assembly. I had all the pieces and didn't have any issues. Each piece was appropriately labeled by number or letter. I noticed a couple chips in the paint but none of it was noticeable once assembled. The instructions recommend that 2 people put it together. I did it alone at first and it took forever. It's definitely doable alone; however, I had help to put the glass door together and it went much faster from that point on. I was hoping the top was actual wood. It's synthetic and thin. It still looks nice but I wish it were like a chopping block top. We use it as a bar to store alcohol and our nice glasses. Works perfectly for that.

Let me break down this entire purchase for you, the potential buyer. The box it gets delivered in is ridiculously heavy which I kind of expected—but I mean it’s like REALLY heavy. I’m glad I went with my gut and had them deliver it directly to my apartment’s front door because it would have been impossible to move that box an inch out of the mail room without a dolly. I had to shimmy it through the front door! If you live anywhere other than a private residence, I highly recommend opting for the same in the delivery instructions. The product’s instructions make it pretty clear that the average assembly time is 2 hours, but keep in mind that that is for a 2-person assembly. I live alone and, given the pandemic, it wasn’t an option to invite over a friend so this project ended up taking about 5 hours from start to finish. Unlike many other furniture assembly instructions, there actually are some written tips inside and all of the pieces came with numbered and lettered stickers on them so they were easily identifiable. They don’t give you any tools to complete the assembly (or at least I didn’t get any) so make sure you have a screwdriver at the minimum, but ideally an electric one. I think it could have taken me an extra 2 hours without the power drill. Also not all of the pieces ended up fitting together perfectly which was frustrating, but that’s not super visible in the finished product. The assembly of this kitchen island with a one-woman show was probably the worst way I could have started 2021, filled with frustration and back pain, but I must admit that the finished product looks pretty darn good. Not only is it aesthetically pleasing, but it added so much storage to my (already tiny) kitchen! Also although it is rather bulky, it’s still pretty easy to move around thanks to the wheels which pivot in all directions. Overall, if you have other people in your household to help you assemble this product, it shouldn’t be too much of a hassle and you will finish in a couple hours and love the product. If you live alone and/or aren’t too savvy with furniture assembly, I would recommend going for something more simple. Either that, or dedicate a whole day to building it! The only other advice I have is to make sure you have all the pieces, count them before building, and lay them out in order. I’ve seen reviews of people missing some pieces in the packaging, and I personally received more than the manual stated I should have. Maybe they threw in some extra pieces as a precaution, but better safe than sorry! Happy building!

Do very much like the unit. Purchased in sept of 2020 and still holding strong. Was a b**** to put together, but do love it. There were some “blemishes”‘on the unit, but for me - it’s ok. Can’t be seen from where I have it in my kitchen. Also - love the floating shelves that hold my coffee cups ( also from Amazon ). Gf is always wanting to do projects, but this one turned out whimsical. Put the coffee cart together for her - no worries, I prefer to put the things together bc she always messes the putting together part up 😂 would recommend. But again, will have more than likely a few blemishes on wood. For price, would expect that would be perfectly in tact but none the less I love it. Would recommend. Nice amt of space it takes up. See pic to get a better idea.

My wife and I both loved the look of this island and we wanted to spend a little more money to get something we thought would be better quality. I enjoyed building this piece and it went pretty quickly until I got to the final step of putting in the drawer. After completing the entire piece I went to slide the drawer in and the counter top was slumping in the middle preventing me from closing the drawer (probably slumped down about 3-5 millimeters). This then turned into the most time consuming part of the build. I had to reassemble parts of the back to try to level off the cross piece that I noticed was a bit crooked. I tried everything, but it appears the pre-drilled holes were just off maybe a few millimeters on both side pieces and that made the back rise a couple millimeters in one corner. I thought this was the source of my problem, but then noticed that even without that problem the counter top slumped slightly in the middle. I don't know if this was the result of damage or if the counter top is too thin. After about 30-40 minutes of trying to fix this, I ended up putting a few washers on each of the front corners to slightly raise the counter top at the front so the drawer would fit under (thankfully the gap is hardly noticeable from above). I would have liked to return the item, but decided to just deal with it considering the hassle it would have been to disassemble and re-box the entire item. My suggestion for the manufacturer would be to either thicken the counter top so it doesn't slump, or divide the one long drawer into two separate drawers so that you can put in some support in the front center of the unit under the counter top. If you're willing to spend this much money, you might first check out a furniture store to see if you can get something already built. Aside from that "small" yet major defect on our unit it's still a nice piece with good storage and feels sturdy.
