Description

With this precision tip you can engrave on pretty much anything you can fit under the rollers in the Cricut Maker. The precision tip has a sharper point then the original engraving tip and can help with finer details for etching designs. Simply add the precision tip in place of the blade on the right hand side of the machine and engrave anything you would normally cut. Select the draw option in the software. The precision tip does not require any other special pieces to work. No special mats either, just use your original Cricut Mat. You may need to add extra adhesive to hold your item in place. Chomas Creations is the original designer of tools for your die cut machines and has over 14 years of experience. As always made in the USA! Please be aware of any copycats of Chomas Creations. I used with my Cricut Explore Air 2. I did not need any other tool or adapter for it to fit in the holder. I followed the instructions that came with it. I did a multicut. You definitely need to use a strong sticky mat. I colored over it with an enamel marker, let it sit for a minute, then rubbed off the excess so the marker inside the engraved wording remained to give contrast. This Chomas etching/engraving Precision tip worked well in the Cricut maker for engraving acrylic disks. The engravings were sufficiently deep and clear with one "cut". However, you must use the exact settings recommended in the directions that comes with this tip or the Maker will not recognize the tip and won't work. I could have purchased the actual Cricut engraving tip then just used the regular Cricut settings for engraving but I saw this tool recommended on a few different videos. However, I don't know what the difference is in performance between this Chomas tool and the actual Cricut engraving tip. I'm reading that this Chomas tip has a finer point and therefore can do finer engraving but I can't verify this claim myself. ... show more

This little blade does exactly as it promised, it engraved as I wanted. The instructions are super simple, if you don't follow them, then... Well, I don't know... I followed and am super happy. I have an Explore Air 2. No need to trade up.

Is a life saver for anyone who cricuts with an explore 1 or 2 being it doesn't come with engraving option. If u play with custom settings. I was encouraged 2 use after warranty is up on cricut, idk why but either way it works well. Crafts look have such a professional look. For the CRICUT EXPLORE AIR 2.....You have to follow the instructions given with the item and on this listing! The YouTube videos are OUTDATED and will give you the wrong settings and will tell you to put the tip in the wrong slot. If you want this to work you need to order the tip made for YOUR PERSONAL MACHINE. I have found that for my machine CRICUT EXPLORE AIR 2 this tip when inserted into SLOT B with my system set on CUT not score or engrave, it will give you beautiful results. ... show more

At first, I followed the tutorials I found on YouTube (because everyone seemed to be on the same page of how to best use this product)-- don't do that. Simply follow the instructions included in the package. The engraving looks great in the Cricut aluminum. I have yet to try any other products to engrave on, but I am sure I will get there and I am sure the product will do its job. Note: Before closing the clasp on your cartridge, set a popsicle stick beneath it to ensure it will not drag across your aluminum/surface. ... show more

Used this in both Air explorer 2 and the Maker. Works in both. We engraved 1/16" acrylic blanks and a dog tag. We followed the instructions that came with the tip. There is a learning curve like taping down the material.

Engraves acrylic very well... Although i messed up my acrylic... it was only because the acrylic was thicker than the cricut could handle load. Use under 2mm acrylic and things will be fine. LOL
