We were going to purchase a Pottery Barn bunk bed like this but at $4k it just wasn't feasible. This is a very reasonable alternative - we knew getting our little boy out of our bed would be a struggle unless we gave him something special (renovations had us cramped in one bed for over a year). So far he'll sleep until around 4am and wander back into our bedroom. This is a huge improvement from getting up every hour from a previous toddler bed. It's sturdy and looks great. Solid wood. I do wish the top bunk slats were more reinforced because I've broken enough softwood slats to get nervous. No more than 100lbs should go in the top bunk, excluding mattress. Bed came absolutely destroyed and was delivered in the pouring down rain and left on the sidewalk where it got soaked! It was unbuildable and not happy at all. Never notified it was delivered and super upset!
