We have had a few different car seats through out kids but this one is by far our favorite! The frame is SOLID and steel reinforced which is a must for me! My husband and I are both paramedics and have seen so many car seats in accidents and this one stood out to me as one of the safest with holding up really well in some of the more serious crashes. It has the most cushion then other seats so my kids always preferred this seat over the others. The zip feature is a life saver to clean the fabric! I have had this seat for 2 kids so far and has been washed over 10x and it is still in perfect condition! Another plus is that it feels so safe. The sides stick out far enough where you feel they are protected from every angle. It is a bit bulky which might bother some but we didn’t mind since it felt more safe then others that were more compact. The latch push button system is another great feature. This is something I want on any seat I purchase now because this system has spoiled me! No more hasseling with the clips and tight straps. I have bought 4 chicco next fits and have loved every single one of them! They are very safe, some colors are less toxic than other brands. Most importantly, my daughter's next fit saved her life and her 3rd birthday party. My minivan was hit head on and down the side by an SUV sliding on ice. The accident was bad, destroyed the van to the point where the glove box was gone and none of the passenger doors on that side ever opened again. I am in PT still from it with injuries. My daughter was rear facing in her next fit, on the side that was hit. She walked away after brushing some window glass off herself. No bruises, no whiplash. She gave the officer a high five and giggled with the paramedics. Sounds made up, this was the day before her 3rd birthday and she celebrated at home with us happily instead of in a hosp or in pain. I love this brand, love these seats! They are wider so putting 3 in a row is impossible, but the side impact protection is 100% legit and worth it. Zip off covering is fantastic for when I transport my preschool kids. Easy adjusting ensures every kid I transport it buckled safely, correctly and quickly. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. We replaced our original NextFit ix's due to them being in use while our vehicle was rear-ended. Kiddos were both okay as both were safely and correctly secured. Our oldest is 37lbs, which is approaching the rear-facing weight limit on the original NextFit. We were excited to see the NextFit Zip Max can rear face up to 50 lbs. In comparing the two side by side, the Max is a bit bigger in feel, as well as in depth. Both of these are to be expected. We did notice that when rear-facing the seats, we had to move our front seats up just slightly to accommodate the larger size. The only mixed feeling I have is concerning the strap that you pull to tighten the harness. I like that it was moved inwards on the seat, and separated the button positioning. However, when loosening the harness, nothing is preventing the strap from being pulled underneath the cover. While slightly annoying, I wish there had been a better stop mechanism in place so I wouldn't need to fish this out from under the cover. ... show more

When my son outgrew his Britax infant seat I did hours of research and finally settled on the Graco Extend2fit based on its great reviews and moderate price. I absolutely hated it, and my son would scream the entire time he was strapped in it. I could never seem to get a good fit in either the seat itself or for my 1 year-old, 22 lb son. Next I tried the Britax Boulevard ClickTight with ARB. I have always exclusively used Britax car seats with my other children and had high hopes for this one. My car has second row bucket seats and this particular seat is HUGE! Once again, I could not get this seat to fit appropriately and unfortunately had to return it. I continued my search and for some reason this Chicco seat doesn’t come up on many “safest or best convertible car seat” lists but does get great reviews on Consumer Reports so I decided to give it a try. I could tell at once this seat would be different-it just looked super comfortable and my son did not fuss or cry when I put him in to try it. I then went to install it and this was the only seat I could install by myself and let me tell you it is rock solid—the installation of this car seat is amazingly simple and it really does take a quick pull of each latch strap. I did have to use a foam child seat positioner to get adequate recline, but the fit is perfect now!! Fits great in my bucket seats and my son loves it!!! I did some serious research before picking a car seat when I was pregnant. I had the Chicco Keyfit 30 for my baby when he was just born. After he was too heavy for me to carry him around in the infant car seat we bought this seat. It is heavy duty, and you can tell is a solid safe seat. It is fairly easy to install a bit harder for my MIL to install. I then bought a Graco for my car and my husband kept the Chicco. I hates the Graco so much I gave it away and purchased another Chicco. We still have our Chicco stroller and I recommend the Chicco line to EVERYONE with or expecting young kids. ... show more
