I haven't experienced needing to pull the cover off yet but so far, everything is pretty simple. It comes in pieces in the box but a no brainer to put together. The arms are cushy, and it has two nice cup holders for all the things. My daughter loves being in a big high back like her brother, and it was easy to adjust to her height. I have no problem getting the seatbelt to stay where it needs to, and she can get it all by herself every time now since she's had a little practice. I have a highlander and it looks nice in the car and sits flat against the seat as it's supposed to. It comes with the latch system and my husband loves the new way these unclick unlike the ones we've dealt with in the past with convertible and infant seats. I think we made a good buy. ... show more

The fact this seat took me 3 minutes to 'put together' and then another 5 min to (effortlessly) install securely in my car the first time I did it (now it takes maybe 3 min) ... is a GOD SEND!!! The REAL Latch capability (vs those 'clips' with straps that simply don't work (for me)) snap in and tighten with little effort and are loosened and removed again with little effort. The seat belt guides work perfectly for my car. The cup holders (that fold into themselves which is great as the one on the door side doesn't work well in my car) are also easy to snap on and the seat back actually snaps EASILY onto the booster seat itself, and has a little clamp type thing you can left to set the seat back angle or remove it altogether (again, easily!!) .... We are not (yet) going to use this as our full time car seat for our 5+ old, but we will be using it for travel / rental cars / care-takers cars etc... so simplicity of safe installation and ease of removal is of HUGE importance for us... this seat checks all the boxes (In addition to being easy to safely install, it seems comfy, well padded, not too wide or huge, and still relatively light!) By comparison, I purchased another brand, of a similar belt positioning high back booster, and it took me 30 minutes just to attach the back to the seat! It involved me full on jumping on top of the place where the seat back and booster meet, just to make it 'snap' into place on the booster portion)... and then another 20 minutes struggling to install it in my car, using those crappy black 'latch' clips... I never felt it was secure, so I promptly removed it and unceremoniously chucked it across the front lawn in frustration... that seat will be returned.... and the 'impossible seat' was only $20 less than the KidFit standard version of this Chicco (I just went for the nicer fabric because we live in a hot climate).... so believe me... that $20 savings was not worth the time, effort, and potentially unsafe installation that the 'cheaper' seat gave... You get what you pay for, and sometimes you just gotta pony up. (I know that is super privileged of me, but given this seat will be used for your 40-100lb kiddo, it should be around for a while and worth the investment to buy something you will not hate every time you need to move it!) ... show more

We ordered three different models and tested each of them. This one is the best IMO. It’s thicker and more comfortable for longer trips and MOST importantly it has latches to fasten to the cars safety brackets. The others we ordered did not have the latches so when our four year old would climb up into our SUV he would pull the seat out of the vehicle. This one is great and being that we have quite a few cars within our family this one pops in and out quickly with a quick release for the latches. The deeper cup holders are a huge plus too as the others were very shallow and things would fall out. ... show more

We have two of these in the Zip Plus version and I'm really happy with them. I drive a 2016 Toyota RAV4 and the install was easy and painless. Attach the LATCH connectors, remove the car's headrest, adjust booster back height, and buckle it in. Both of my kids seem to be happy and comfortable in their seats. They can easily buckle themselves in and their Yeti water bottles fit in the cup holders. The fabric is durable and the center panel zips off easily so you can toss it in the washing machine. Overall, they're good quality seats that have some nice practical features. Unfortunately, when we tried to put these in our other car (2012 Dodge Charger) the boosters could not be safely installed because the car's headrests pushed the booster back too far forward. The headrests can't be removed or repositioned in this car so we had to pick a different car seat for a better fit (the Diono Monterey 5ist). When installed in the Toyota, I give the Chicco seats 5 stars. But since we could not safely install them in the Dodge, I knocked off a star. ... show more

My 6 year old loves his seat. He says it's very comfortable. He has taken a few car naps in it and his head rests nicely without leaning forward. It was easy to assemble and install. I love that it came in his favorite color and it seems like it will be easy to clean.

I’m a grandma and have dealt with car seats for 19 years. This is by far the easiest car seat I’ve ever had to put in and remove from the car. Plus it’s rated as one of the safest. My grandson got in and immediately remarked that it was so comfy on his legs with the leg rest. He loves the snack caddy that goes in the one cup holder. I always stick a surprise or treat in the snack holder for him. He can buckle and unbuckle himself but I always double check that he did it correctly and that it’s secure. To remove the seat, you just push the button hidden in the front of the seat and the latches come free. To put the seat in, you extend the straps, latch them to your car, push the car seat back and pull the front hidden strap to tighten. It’s seriously so easy. It’s quick and no more sweating and wrestling the car seat. It’s a great “common sense” idea! Love love love it!! ... show more
