This car seat is super nice and feels very well-made. It is slightly on the heavier side, but honestly the quality makes up for it. My favorite feature is the built-in cover—it’s so convenient, especially in colder weather. It makes getting the baby in and out so much easier and keeps them protected from wind and cold without needing to juggle extra blankets. My baby has spit up a few times when putting him in the car seat and it’s super easy to wipe out the fabric is easy to just wipe off. With the newborn insert my baby’s head is very well supported and he seems to be comfortable. Overall, I’m really happy with this seat. I am still in shock that this car seat from Chicco came up for review and had to grab it! I had a few mom’s to be in my life and was able to gift it to a mom whose baby was coming early. She was in the hospital stressing about how she was going to bring baby home and she was in tears when I brought it to her. As someone whose baby also kept trying to come early, I remember crying at work over not having a car seat for her. The most important aspect to a car seat is its safety and Chicco is the best brand out there. After seeing this car seat I immediately upgraded both of my kids boosters/car seats to Chicco and there is no turning back. While I don’t know if I’ll ever have another baby, if I do, I’m coming back for THIS car seat exactly. I’m someone who has had Nuna and other high end brands and honestly, they didn’t compare. This KeyFit car seat is so comfortable especially for newborns. Tons of padding and support and all the mechanisms to keep baby safe. I love the sun shade and how it’s expandable and secures with magnets! I also love that you can unzip the fabric and reveal a mesh panel so your baby can get adequate air. For me, I could feel the amazing quality in the fabric and materials that make up this car seat. It also looks so sleek and nice. Nothing about this car seat feels cheap. Awesome carseat, super easy to safely install. Also super easy to release and pops right into the chicco stroller and easy button release to detach from the stroller. Even has built in bubble levels to make sure the base is installed properly. I haven’t found the bells and whistles yet but, I know they’ve got to be in there somewhere because almost everything else is in there. This has to be the best constructed infant car seat that I have ever seen. Very solid, but padded wrap around design to protect that baby. There are adjustments galore for size, safety, comfort and ease of use. I’m glad I’m not the one who is going to be using this because I don’t want to learn it all. The best I can figure, if it only had a roll cage and fire suppression system, the lucky baby with this seat could do a ride along in a NASCAR race. It is supposed to adjust with growth of the infant from as little as 4lbs up to 30 pounds and 32 inches in length. This thing is expensive at a price point of $289.99 but it looks to me to be worth that much. ... show more

I ordered this car seat for our first baby who is due in May. Unfortunately, it doesn’t fit with the Chicco adapter for our stroller: Cybex Gazelle S. I really liked this car seat and the features. We got the KeyFit Max Zip ClearTex and I feel like it’s comparable with some of the higher end brands like Nuna. It was heavier than the Nuna, but not too heavy where that impacted my decision to return. It looked really comfortable, great padding, and I loved the one handed handle fold. I wish this car seat fit our stroller because I really liked it!! ... show more

Hands down this is one of the most beautiful car seats I have ever touched. The black fabric is so smooth and luxe, and the texture on the grey newborn insert feels really nice. The base is heavy duty and it fits into it very easy with one hand. Two button pushes to remove it from the base. The carry handle flips up, or back out of the way. The sunshade has a back zipper with a nice surprise: a mesh airflow panel to keep the seat from getting too hot and baby too cranky. But the best feature is the built in car seat cover, which has magnetic closures! No need to buy fussy car seat covers! There was no weird plastic or chemical smells. The box was pretty heavy, but I think most of the weight was in the base, as the infant seat itself didn't feel too awkward to carry. The straps are very secure and Chicco is known for their safety so I have no worries about that for the baby. You'll be very happy if you buy this car seat! ... show more
