This is out 3rd set of Chicago cutlery knives. They are amazing. Super sharp. Unbelievably sharp. We love them, with one drawback, they break. They break about halfway down the rubber grip. Amazon replaced them right away but it's only a matter of time until they are outside the return period and they break. It happened with our 1st set (different than this listing) and 2nd set (this listing). Getting a single replacement knife seems difficult and Chicago cutlery didn't respond to my request on their website. Plus it's not worth paying $25 for a single knife when the whole set is about 4-5 times that amount. We love these knives so much I'm not even deducting a star. 5 stars. The cut through steak like butter. Be careful! They are ridiculously sharp. ... show more

True Chicago cutlery quality. You can’t go wrong with Chicago cutlery. The knives are very sharp, well balanced and well made. My old set, Wusthof, very expensive, (ex had to have) needed sharpening all the time. Having worked at a meat processing plant I know how to sharpen a knife and couldn’t keep the Wusthof’s sharp. My past experience with Chicago cutlery has me confident I will not need to sharpen these knives very often with proper and daily use. If needed I would give these as a gift. I won’t ever need another set of knives and could pass these on to grandchildren. I definitely recommend buying Chicago cutlery. ... show more

First off, excellent product. Knives have a wonderful feel in your hand. I love the grips and balance. The only reason it got 4 starts is the lack of a scissor slot in the block. In the kitchen that is a key tool and the block is the ideal place but could not find it in the style and price I wanted so I went without. Great knives. Have had them for years and they're still in as good as new appearance. I just sharpen them once in a while with the included steel and they're still very sharp. I also always put them in the dishwasher and the handles are still as good as the day I got them.
