When mine finally died it was only because something got dripped on the plug and it broke. My friend recommended the Lange brand to me and I tried it, immediately could tell it wasn’t like what I was use to with my CHI. I returned that one and immediately ordered this. It is so smooth, my hair is silky and feels great. It glides over your hair like butter. Love the digital temperature it saves my last used temperature setting as well. When you turn it on, it shows the temp you’ve saved and heats up within seconds. It beeps when ready, I love that! Also cools down quickly. I’m so happy they’re still make such wonderful products. I had to get rid of my CHI that I had for 10+ years because my cat chewed the power cord. I found this one on sale for around $50 so I figured I'd give it a try. I am so happy with how this flat iron performs. It heats up very quickly and I am able to straighten my curly/wavy hair in about 7 minutes. It's very light weight and easy to use. The Chi is such a nice flat iron! The plates are smooth and it handles very easily; good ergonomics. It had all of the features I was looking for; ceramic, tourmaline, infrared, and set temperature by number, not a blank dial. My hair is straight but frizzy, I found 250 degrees works well. I liked that this iron had multiple temp settings and it heated quickly. I didn't like that Chi seems to have poor quality control. I opened the box, took the iron out, and saw a chip on the top of one of the ceramic plates, so deep you can see the silver meshing underneath. It's hard to show with myolder phone camera but you can see it in the picture. I debated returning it and decided I would because for such an expensive iron I would use daily, it should be more quality. I also didn't think it was that much better at straightening hair than my lesser branded flat iron. Overall, it did well, but not that well to keep it with a chip in the ceramic plate. ... show more

This was recommended to me by my sister in law she has long thick hair. I have shoulder length hair that is also thick and color treated and this flat iron is perfect. It heats up quickly, has a super long cord, and when combined with a heat protecting doesn't to any damage to my hair. I would recommend it to everyone it has changed my hair styling came and cut my style time in half. I have always gotten cheaper models but this is worth the money and I will never go back to cheap ones. I had an original Chi that lasted me over 10 years. I loved it. It had a faulty wire so I tossed it and ordered this one. The buttons are on the inner part which is nice. At first I thought it was weird, but I actually really like it. The color is a beautiful red. It allows you to change the temperature.
