I did a blind buy of this product because it was on sale. I have very straight, fine, Asian hair. I have used every sort of curling wand and iron and none of them work on my type of hair. I love the cool shot feature. It provides volume for the curl. I also love the design of the wand. It allows me to use both left and right hand. I’ve been debating getting a Dyson or shark hair wrap or hot rollers. I have very long hair (down to my waist), and I have only use normal curling irons or wand before, which are ok but take a long time. My shoulders ache after curling all my hair, so I don’t do it often. For my birthday, I gifted myself the Chi Lava curling iron. I tried it for the first time today using a medium setting. After 5 min or less, I had a full head of awesome curls!! Omg omg omg, this thing is amazing! It heats up in a minute, and then that cold shot sets the curl. I got mine straight out of the box. I guess I should’ve seen some sort of red flag since there was no tape on the box. When I opened it to look inside, the curling iron was upside down in the box which should’ve been another red flag. I pulled it out and the cord was all tangled together which told me it has been used. Then, there was makeup on the handle and the outside had been scratched up terribly. I waited twice as long as it originally said I would wait for this product just for it to come in USED! 😞 ... show more

I was very skeptical at first but with not having much luck with the iron or curling wands etc and knowing I could return it if it didn't produce the result I wanted, I bought it. I've had naturally curly hair my entire life and pretty much wore it natural but decided I wanted to do something different. I had no experience with irons or wands and outside of a flat iron to wear it straight i was unsuccessful at achieving a curl or wave with these tools. I'm not sure if it's the design or something else, but this tool is amazing . I was able to get the soft wave or curl thst I've been only able to get from my hair dresser when I go in for service, not as good, but good enough for me. If this sounds like you try this tool, obviously we are all different but if this worked for someone like me , who is clumsy at best when it comes to styling hair with these tools, it should work for anyone that fits into that category. ... show more

    • I love the way it curls my hair!
I haven’t used it much, my hair stylist has one and she can curl my hair in about 5 mins and it looks so good. It takes me about 30 mins. I am still working with it to cut my time down. The curls stay all day without any kind of hair spray in your hair.

Worked great but too hot for my fine hair. I've not really used a regular wand so the angled handpiece was no problem and minimum learning curve. Can't say the airshot function was impressive
