I got this item on sale and I love it. It heats up so fast and very easy to control. I've own a titanium Chi flat iron for years, I replaced it with this one because of the digital screen died on me. I hope this one is as good and last as long as my previous one.

WOW. This hair straightener is the prettiest straightener I've ever had. It works well for it's intended use but also does a great job at producing tighter curls using the right technique. The length of the plates haven't been a problem for my medium-long hair. That said, I don't know if I could justify spending this much money on a straightener. Though it performs well, I have owned other straighteners that perform similarly when used with other hair products (heat protectant, hairspray, and finishing oil). I would say this is a great value for someone who uses heat on their hair regularly, but for someone (me) who only uses it on occasion (roughly once or twice a week?), the time needed to apply other hair products after using my (cheaper alternative) straightener is worth saving the money. ... show more

The black, velvet box, the iridescent, metal flake finish that looks gold or silver, depending on how you turn it, and in what light, the liquid metal look of the ceramic plates…it all adds up to a really nice gift for someone, or a great treat for yourself. I’ve had a series of no-name flat irons over the last couple of decades, but always wanted a CHI. They’re so much better. This one heats up super fast, like 60 seconds and go. It irons better…one pass instead off multiple, and no frizz. It has auto-shut off, which is such a relief. I don’t have to always wonder, “Did I shut it off? Is my house going to burn down?” Yeah, it’s pricey. But, there’s a reason. Quality costs. ... show more

These flat irons are not worth the price and although I see very high ratings on this product; I did not see this product perform any better than a lesser costing brand. - The product comes in a velveteen case that does not have a handle so you have to carry it like a box, nonfunctional. -It is a gold tone when it comes to you but after the first use as it heats up, the tone begins to turn silver and even after it cools off; the color remains silver. -It does have an extra long cord, extremely long that could be a plus for some. -Your controls are on the inside of the handle and it heats fast, I would have expected a locking mechanism for the irons to stay closed until I unlock it to use as this feature makes it easier to lay flat until use. -Performance is no different than any other flat irons I have used, my hair did not show any difference in end results after use. Overall, these are just flat irons with a lot of razzle dazzle for the price. I am disappointed that they are marketing this as a Gold Edition upon presentation and after that, expect to be using a silver edition for the duration. I personally feel that they could reduce cost by reducing the fluff in this product and provide a more cost-effective, consumer-friendly product by focusing on the purpose of the product and incorporate those features and then charge accordingly. At the time of this posting, this product is $120 and I would venture to find a decent pair of flat irons for about half the price based on my overall experience of this appliance. ... show more

The cord on this straightener is LONG. I think it's the longest one I'v'e ever used which is fantastic! I really need the flexibility of not hunting for an over the sink plug when everyone is charging their razors or toothbrushes. It's a lovely gold color with an easy to read screen and the rounded edges makes it so easy to straighten as you curl the last bit of hair. The case it comes in is premium. It's heats up quickly and maintains the heat well. I have very very long thick coarse hair and with some heat protectant, does a beautiful job. ... show more
