The dynamic CHI G2 offers a sleek design, upgraded technology and outstanding performances. The G2 features titanium infused ceramic plates for added durability and an even smoother glide. The 1.25" floating plates allow you to style more hair in less time. Digital temperature reading displayed on a color coded LCD screen allows for proper temperature setting for fine, medium and coarse hair up to 425°F. Ceramic heater with advanced technology for 40 second heat up. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces. Do not wrap the cord around the appliance. Never allow the power supply cord to be pulled, jerked, strained, twisted, or severely bent, especially at the plug connections. The foregoing may damage the cord, including at or near the high flex point of entry into the appliance, causing it to rupture and short. Handle the cord carefully for longer life. I have used my old Remington flat iron for 2 years and it died on me. I used my friends CHI on vacation and was impressed by the quality, hers is 5-6 years old. CHI was recommended me to by several friends because of the quality and long lasting use. I love that this flat iron is dual voltage for travel. I ordered the CHI original and CHI G2 To compare, the only difference I noticed is the G2 has an 11 ft cord and the original has a 6.. I prefer the shorter cord. Also the G2 has color coded settings which I don’t believe is necessary- it’s just a selling point. Both flat irons heat up fast and work great however I chose to keep the original because it is a ceramic plate which is less damaging to hair over time. The G2 has titanium infused plates which can be drying and damaging to hair. My one complaint would be that I wish it had a lock feature for storage. I did reorder this on target because it was $50 cheaper… Overall I am happy with the CHI and looking forward to getting a lot of use out of it! ... show more

This is my second CHI hair straightener. My first one lasted nearly 10 years! Naturally, I got the same one again. While these are more expensive than others on the market, you get what you pay for. I expect this one to last another 10 years. One great feature about CHI is the straightening 'plates' are coated with some sort of rubbery material that makes straightening feel smooth as opposed to other brands that feel like your hair is being ripped, pulled, or burned. This new model has a lot of new features as well - the temperature can be set to more granular levels and the device remembers your last setting. It also beeps (not a harsh, annoying beep) when it is fully heated. There is also a digital readout which is a nice feature. There are other features on this device that I have not used, but I can be certain they are well thought-out features. My one grievance is that the cord is extremely long.
