It is good stuff. Easy to use and not much waiting time to heat up. But it might take around 2 mins to cool down a bit. If you are in a rush to leave, better to give yourself more time to cool down.

I got this like 3 years ago I love it makes my hair so soft and straight and it’s still working great had dropped it a few times and it’s still 100% looks nice still and the heat level can be very high you have to be careful and it’s lasted this long pricey but a good investment

I had a smaller CHI iron a few years back but it was old and I had to get something new. I tried a couple of other brands but they never performed like a CHI. So when Prime days hit I ordered this and immediately was thankful I did. Straightened my wavy/loose curls hair in minimal time and it's stayed straight all day. No frizz, no rebounding of any curls. I bought this to replace my 2nd herstyler straightener. I have VERY frizzy hair, which is fairly wavy and curly in spots. So, I straighten my hair both to leave straight, and to re-curl. So, I wanted a straightener that could curl as it straightens like my other one did to minimize the heat I put on it. Pic on the left is after 10 minutes of straightening/curling lightly. Pic on the right is my ridiculously frizzy hair combed out during air drying beforehand. This works great. It glides super smooth through my hair--much better than the her styler, has automatic shutoff--which is huge for me, and has a more rounded body so when I curl it doesn't crimp or leave marks in my hair. I was worried it would feel cheap, but it definitely doesn't. It isn't as "thick and sturdy" as the her styler, but is also not as heavy which is a plus. I like the long plates, dial, etc. I wish it went just a bit hotter, but after a couple of weeks using it, I'm getting used to going slightly slower and having the 410 temp which is probably better for my hair. It curls really nicely. I had to adjust my technique just a bit from my other straightener, but once I figured out how much to twist and how slow to pull, I'm really happy with it. I don't smell that "burn" smell that some people have mentioned. Maybe just a touch, but fairly minimal. Oh, and I really like how it feels in my hand. Its a good shape. Chord is perfect length--not too long, not too short. And, the heat resistent pad to set it on is a bonus, though it doesn't really lay flat. ... show more

I had to order two of these because the first one was defective. The plates would not touch fully with light pressure, and barely touched fully with full force. My hair kept slipping out the back of the iron. The plates also didn't align when closed. The second flat iron had much better plate contact. I do think it makes my hair smoother and look healthier than my Revlon ceramic flat iron. I would rate it higher if I hadn't needed to order it twice. ... show more
