  • I probably combed my cats on average 3-5 times per day (they love being combed thank goodness
I have 2 indoor cats and somehow we managed to develop a flea problem. At first I convinced myself I could cure the issue without any chemicals on my pets. I tried DE powder in the carpets, obsessive vacuuming and combing the cats multiple times a day with the flea comb. I got nowhere and finally admitted I needed to get some medicine on the cats before the problem got any further out of control. I did quite a lot of research on various brands of flea treatment... it seems that nearly every brand you will find some horror stories about the product irritating the cats skin, making them ill, etc. That was a majority of why i was trying to treat the problem a more natural way at the onset of the problem. Of all the products I read up on, I felt the Cheristin by far had the most favorable reviews not only for it's effectiveness, but also the least amount of reported complaints in regards to the side effects. Just to put things in perspective... I probably combed my cats on average 3-5 times per day (they love being combed thank goodness!). On average I would find anywhere from 1-4 fleas throughout the course of the day. If I didn't find any actual fleas, i would always see evidence of them (the eggs or larvae or whatever the black specks and squiggles were that i brushed off the cats). Frankly it grossed me out.... but anyway i digress... So I get the Cheristin in the mail and manage to get a treatment on each of the cats. In the six days since I applied the product I have seen a total of two small fleas on my cat with the thicker coat... and both of those fleas were dead. That was in the first days after application. Since then literally nothing. No fleas, no flea remnants no nothing. As far as I am concerned at this point, the problem is gone after one treatment and I am THRILLED! :) Also one more thing - i received the product without a box and the instructions were photocopied. Frankly, this freaked me out a bit and questioned the legitimacy of the product... so I called the company (phone number is included in the printed materials). Right away someone picked up and was extremely helpful in answering my questions and reassured me that the product was genuine and safe to use. (Evidently the way they purchase the bulk product. the packaging was on back order or some such thing). Just wanted to pass that along that if you are unsure, there is a number included to call if you encounter the same situation and need to put your mind at ease. ... show more

  • On day 10...Still working!
We are 72 hours in and so far this product is amazing. My poor cat has a flea allergy and she is covered in sores. I have tried two other products and they didn't work. A few hours after I applied the product the fleas were gone. Her sores are starting to heal and she isn't scratching. The smell wasn't bad and it didn't leave her fur sticky or oily. I will edit this review once I see of it works all month long. **Day 10 review...So we are on day 10 and it is still working. All other products I havery tried stopped working around day 5-8. My cat is healing up and starting to act herself again. ... show more

  • Works When All Else Failed
This is my first time trying this brand & I couldn't be more pleased. My poor baby was overwhelmed with fleas. I usually do the monthly flea drops & that keeps the fleas away. First, Advantage II stopped working so we switched to Frontline Plus. His last dose actually appeared to make the problem worse. He was miserable, clawing & licking himself nonstop. I had some success with the flea comb but he was way too miserable to sit still for that. I searched on cat message boards for any suggestion. Someone had recommended Cheristin. I was willing to try anything & I also picked up some flea spray to use in conjunction with Cheristin. Even though it had not been a month since his Frontline Plus dose I went ahead & gave him the Cheristin. He absolutely hates when you apply the drops & will bolt in a full speed sprint for several minutes after his dose. This time with Cheristin, he kind of looked at me strange & sat down. Even he was surprised. I thought, "Uh oh, that probably means it's not going to work". Boy was I wrong. Within 24 hrs, he was a calm, flea free kitty. It was unbelievable. It has been a week & I haven't even had to use the flea spray. I'm a believer & will not use that other expensive crap anymore. It worked ten times as well, was less irritating & costs less. If you are on the fence, give it a try. You won't be disappointed & neither will Kitty! ... show more

  • Great Product
I used to use frontline and advantage 2 for years - plus the generic kinds of both - both which stopped working, and were as much or more expensive than Cheristin. My Vet recommed it one year when my 2 indoor cats got worms (ew) from fleas - the worms left their shells in their bedding. I live in FL; it's hot and rainy here often, so the climate is ideal for all bugs, and all it takes is one neighbot to walk by with afflucted pet, scratch, and ! Belive me, you do not want an infestation. I have a M and a F Dsh and Dlh cat, both 7 years old. I apply Cheristin once a month on the back of the neck, usually while they're sleeping. When they wake up, I pet them and give them treats. Be aware - it does hace a strong 'plastic chemical' type smell, that dlgoes away in a day. I keep an eye on both of them for 24 hours: the most that ever happens is they can get very sleepy and the little cat who weighs less can get flu-like symptoms. However, once theyve had their second or thirsonthly does, their body has adjusted Then Ido my normal routine of vaccuming, cleanining floors and laundry/washing bedding, and keep the litter fresh (and taking cat fur from the vacuum and trash right to the curb - very important!!!), and we are a flea-free, happy meowshold. I mean household. >^o^< I spent years do reasearch, and learning by trial and error, so I hope this helps someone. Number one - ask your vet or local spay and neuter clinic what is right for your pet. That being said, it is wonderful that I can now have this delivered straight to my home, and not have to make the 30 minute trip to my local Clinic! Thank you. ... show more
