Directions: DIRECTIONS FOR USE. It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN TO APPLY PRODUCT. To prevent harm to you and your dog, read entire label before each use. Follow all directions and precautionary statements carefully. Dog must be dry at time of application and remain dry for 24 hours after application. Use entire contents of tube on each dog. Weigh your dog to be sure you are applying the right dose formulated for the weight of your dog. Separate the treated dog from all other dogs and cats for 24 hours after treatment has been applied to prevent chance of ingestion. RESTRICTIONS. Do not use on cats or animals other than dogs. Do not allow your dog to ingest this product. Do not bathe or allow dog to swim for 24 hours after application. Do not apply more than one tube per treatment for one dog regardless of dog's weight. Do not reapply for 30 days. HOW TO OPEN. Remove product tubes from the package. Separate one tube from the others. Hold the tube with notched end pointing up and away from the face and body. Use scissors to cut off the narrow end at the notches along the line. HOW TO APPLY. Part the dog's hair between the shoulder blades so that the dog's skin is exposed. Squeeze the contents of tube in 3 to 4 spots from the shoulder blades to a point midway down the back until tube is empty. Do not apply down to the dog's tail.

this flea medication works! a few things to note that i’ve seen in the reviews and it doesn’t seem like people do too much research - not to be abrasive but don’t miss out on a good product because people don’t read. this product is easy to use, effective, and provides protection from all life stages of fleas when used continuously. 1. your dog is still itching after you apply the medication because they have flea bites. they will continue to itch for a few days or weeks until the bites are gone. you can use a oatmeal or anti itch shampoo to help. itching doesn’t necessarily mean continuing biting. 2. you need to get it on to their skin and follow the directions which includes continuing in a line down their back from collar to beginning of tail. 3. if you have an active infestation you should couple this product with a oral medication. it is safe to mix most oral and topical preventatives/treatments. you also need to wash their bedding and vacuum. you can treat these items with diatomaceous earth - put it on bedding or carpet and then vacuum it up. if you don’t feel like doing this just throw the stuff away. you also need to empty your vacuum canister in a bag and take it to the garbage for best results. you should also bathe your dog, it is acceptable to do this with dawn dish soap which is especially effective for fleas. 4. fleas have a life cycle so if you are struggling with an infestation you probably need to repeat the above directions in #3 every week for about 6 weeks in order to kill the fleas. you should readminister an oral medication once a week as well that kills adult fleas. 5. yes dogs die from preventative flea medication. they also die from tapeworms that they get from fleas and fleas are miserable and pesky. it is a cost benefit analysis. dogs die from all sorts of flea medication, generic, oral, topical, or collars. it is a possibility that is listed in the information on this preventative - people don’t think it’ll be their dog. one of my dogs gets seizures from oral flea medication which is why we practice prevention from everyone else in the house and we have her on topical only. 6. this is a generic version of a brand name product. it is the same dosage and ingredients as frontline. the big makers of pet medications have spent billions of dollars in advertising and litigation to make generic pet medications difficult to find and utilize. this is worth a try and it’s a great value for the price. ... show more

    • Great cheap alternative that WORKS!

I love this stuff! I've been struggling with fleas for months on my dog. My previous apartment complex's yard had them, and we were just never really able to shake them. I bought these because I couldn't afford the name brand. I hoped that they'd just take down the number of fleas slightly- they did much more than that! For 2 months, I didn't see a single flea on my dog. I assumed this was because I didn't have fleas in my house anymore- but my cat still had them (in fact, note, the cat counterpart of this brand doesn't work great). My dog though? Fine. He has VERY sensitive skin and is always covered in scabs if he has a single flea. His scabs went away, and when I bathed him, I didn't see any fleas or flea dirt! He lost no hair (he's allergic to everything) and had no issues with this stuff. Anyways, I missed his dose this month. I forgot to mark it on my calender, so I skipped it. Today, a month after missing the dose, I washed him. He was INFESTED. Nothing had changed besides missing the dose. Needless to say, after his bath we will make sure to get this months dose on him because obviously, it's working! Thank you amazon for offering a cheaper alternative that works! P.S.: if it doesn't work, weigh your dog! I got the wrong weight the first time for another dog and it did nothing. Turned out she was 10 lbs more than we thought! She's on the right dose now and it works! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. 18 hours after applying this flea product to my healthy 4-year-old Black Mouth Cur, she died of anaphylactic shock. She bled out as her blood would not clot. After rushing her to the emergency vet and spending $2,000 to save her, the tests confirm that she was poisoned by this product! I'm furious. DO NOT use this product! We applied Amazon Basics Flea and Tick Topical (Large dog 45 - 80 lbs) This is a generic to FrontLine Plus. It was administered as instructed between the shoulders of our healthy, 4 year old Black Mouth Cur Sunny. She was perfectly fine in the morning and was with me all day at my desk until 5 pm. When I got up at 5, she did too then started throwing up and lost control of her bowels. We rushed her to the emergency vet who ran xrays and blood work to confirm she had gone into anaphylaxis shock and her blood would not clot anymore. She was bleeding out due to the toxicity of the dose of the pesticide. The veterinarian asked if she could have gotten into rat poison and I told him no, but I had just applied this flea and tick dose. He confirmed that was the likely culprit. We had to euthanize her to prevent further suffering. We are completely devastated. Please stay away from this product. I found 10 other reviews that say this product KILLED THEIR DOGS. Yet, Amazon won't remove the product. BEWARE!! ... show more

    • Affordable PREVENTATIVE

The price is hard to beat, and it worked FLAWLESSLY for prevention. But I forgot to reorder for my dog that is a different weight range than the rest, and we of course had fleas within a week. With an ACTIVE infestation, this is much less effective because it wears off significantly by 2-3 weeks (typical of flea drops in general) But once the infestation is over with I will go back to using this because it is so much more affordable than bravecto chews. I do wish they these had a snap off top instead of needing to be cut with scissors. ... show more
