Overall, I like the coat, but made a few changes on mine. Fur on the hood: The hood is permanent on the coat, but the fur can be removed from the hood. It is held in place by buttons and loops. However, the fur is only fastened at four points, which is not enough. While pulling the hood up over the head, your finger can "go through," and it feels like you're going through a hole. In addition to the original 4 points of attachment, I added 8 more ( two additional points between each original one). That meant adding 16 more buttons (8 points, fastened both front and back of fur) and 16 more loops. Fur appearance: It looked somewhat mangy when unpacked. I brushed it well and trimmed a few of the longer hairs, and it looked much better afterward. Size: I ordered a medium. The coat fits and is flattering to my 5'4" & approximately 128# frame. But this medium is more snug than my other winter puffer coat that is a small. I can usually wear either a small or a medium, but I would not be able to wear a small in this coat. Length: The coat is about an inch shorter than my other puffer coat, but still covers my back end well. Pockets: It has two outer pockets that are big enough for gloves and tissues. There are no inner pockets and no pockets that snap or zip shut. Warmth: The coat is cozy warm. I actually got a little too warm with the outside temperature at a mild 35°. It is warm enough for the whole winter in northern Indiana.

Love this coat! I usually wear a size small in most things, but I bought the medium first, based on some reviews of people whose height and weight matched mine. The medium ended up being a little too big for me, which goes to show the diversity in body shapes out there! The sleeves of the medium were too long, and it overall just felt too bulky/difficult to move around in. I got the small and am really happy. Little more fitted, but still enough room to layer a little (although you really don't need to because it's VERY warm), and sleeves were a good length. I am about 145 lb and 5'5", "average build" and have a proportionate figure (equally shaped top and bottom). One downside: I just wore it out to walk my dog for about 20 mins in the freezing rain and it does NOT appear water resistant (water soaked in, vs beading up on the surface, although it didn't seep into the inner lining) so bring your umbrella if you're going to be outside in this coat for a while.

I am writing this review in hopes of getting a response from the vendor of this jacket as I am confused and upset of my recent purchase. I just recently rebought this jacket in a black color and a size xx-large and two years ago I bought one for myself of the same color but in a large size and it’s a size I have out grown however the jacket had served me well. So my confusion is why was I given a cheaply made jacket that I could but at burlington that was labled as the same jacket however compared to my purchase of two years ago the quality was worse as the material felt different and cheap, and the weight of it was lighter compared to the first. The material inside the jacket to buffer the cold was also not enough and did not seem equally distributed within the jacket. I was also not given the option to exchange for a better quality like the one I already have so I plan to repurchase under the same details and hope that this was just a mistake and then I’ll change my review or even if the vendor may please respond so I can understand why this is happening. Thank you.

This is such a strange coat that I really don't know if I'll keep it or not. I'm 5' 1", 100 pounds and of very average build as far as head and arm size is concerned. Pros: It's very substantial and probably is quite warm. The styling is nice and it looked good on except for the hood. Cons: It has the biggest hood I've ever seen which drooped down over my nose. When I took it out of the packaging, the faux fur looked like an ungroomed dog with flat patches mingled with tangles; if I had given it as a present, I would have been mortified when it was opened. Finally, the sleeves are strangely tight, sort of like a blood pressure cuff when it begins to compress. Using it with a sweater of any thickness would have been uncomfortable.

What a disappointment this coat was!! I bought it as a Christmas gift for my daughter, and, within 30 days of her first wear of it, it ripped at a seam just above her left, front, exterior pocket. I was so disappointed because she Needed a coat and really liked this one. I do not recommend this item.
