I got this yesterday and read thru all the directions and comments before I made waffles this morning. I’ve been craving cinnamon pecan waffles so I thought I would give it a shot. The first one was browned beautifully but not as crispy as I wanted (put in in my air fryer to toast up and it was fine-so good I ate it with a little butter and my fingers! Second time I turned up the heat to 5 and it was fine. This one made it to the plate and got the full butter and syrup treatment. Very pleased with this little unit-the only thing I did differently was use a silicone pastry brush to lightly coat the waffle plates with oil since it was not advised to use a spray. Worked great and the waffles just came right out. Easy clean up too. ... show more

We got this waffle maker to replace eggos. We love the maker it’s easy to use and easy to clean. I love the measuring cup that shows you how much batter to use, it also has a cool little feature of being able to sit on the side of the bowl so the batter doesn’t drip on the counter. I used a little extra batter the first time because it didn’t look like enough and it overflowed. I also like the over flow tray, so if it’s just a little extra it doesnt go down the sides it still gets cooked. The nonstick also works well. Perfect size for individual waffles and fast enough when you're cooking for two, if you couldn't get a head start on building a stack before your partner sat down to join you! Pros: Compact; indicator lights that turns to green when done but most importantly, a walk away safety that turns down to standby a minute or so later after "ready" if you don't open it so you won't burn your waffle. (Yeah, that happened) A darkness selection setting is much appreciated; a measuring cup comes included, thank you very much! And a cord wrap underneath so it fits anywhere neatly. Cons: indicator red light for power "on" but didn't appear to switch to green when the iron was hot enough to start between batches. Maybe it does but I was too impatient to notice. My old one was huge and big enough to make 4 at a time (squares) which was great when I had a tribe at the table but downsizing I donated it and upgraded. It had an indicator light that turned red when preheating, green light when the iron was hot enough to begin and a yellow light when the waffle was done. However, that one wasn't non-stick and didn't power down if you didn't get back to it after it was ready. My son burnt a waffle or two in his teen years... each generation has its challenges.
