When I write a review, I give four stars for meeting expectations and five for exceeding expectations; this receives five stars for exceeding my expectations. I cook a lot at home and am one of those people that just gets the spittle, pops and drips from my pots and pans all over me. I have tried various aprons however have two problems with them that this shirt solves: first if you have a long apron that covers your top you have to be very good about how you fold it or have a hook to hang it on to put away neatly second the aprons that cover the top do leave areas exposed. This shirt is easy to put on, the zipper is flat and smooth. The stitches are even, the seams lay flat and the material is soft. The shirt itself has a nice cut to it, I am comfortable wearing it around the house while cooking and then quickly change when everything is done - you may consider getting a larger size to wear over your top if you want to just take it off and eat. ... show more

Chef Works women's Cody Zip work shirt black medium: I ordered this shirt because it looks sophisticated + slimming, hoped it would be comfortable as well. STYLE: Clean, simple, understatedly professional. Contrast stitching elevates the look. Great for when I want to be taken seriously, but is not stuffy or outdated. Look is casually sophisticated. FABRIC: Super COMFORTABLE, stretchy, smooth feel. Surprised that it's cooler than 100% cotton or 100% poly. FIT: 5'3" 140ish, 38top. Medium fits well, form fitting, slimming. The armpits are lower on me, not tight, which provides room to freely move + feel cool, but shirt will lift up a little when arms are raised to ceiling. Not an issue for me since shirt is long enough and does not expose tummy. VERSATILE: Perfect for a step above casual outfit. Will pair with simple black shorts or slacks, a colorful skirt, etc. NOTE: The shirt I received did not have a pocket. Hope this was helpful. ... show more

This shirt is so much better than how I expected it to be. It's stretchy, breathable and comfortable. It's stylish and formal enough that you can wear it casually or at the office without a problem. The front zip also makes it easy to layer underneath. It's also made amazingly well - it's definitely made for work and not just for fashion. The material is great. Every stitching is well done. Fit and finish are amazing. I love the two tone contrast piping on it. Ignore the description - even though it says it has a chest pocket, the product photos does not show it. As you can see from my photos, the shirt does not have any pockets - which is good since I didn't want pockets on this.
