I am actually impressed with all the different intolerance factors that they test for. There is an abundance of information (albeit not all in sync) that they do provide, so it looks like someone did do a lot of work. (I am not a clinician or scientist, so I can not vouch for the validity yay or nay of any of this.) This said, I have had an email into them for weeks with some questions I have about some of the vague information that they supply. Deficiencies are (can be) self explanatory. But the "high reactivity" and the "out of range" determinations are a bit confusing. If something is out of range, but perhaps beneficial, is that bad? (My example here would be probiotics... "beneficial" bacteria. I take a capsule daily. My results are "out of range," so is that a good or a bad thing?) Out of range vitamins... is this a good thing, or is my body not processing? I may need to read over the info materials again, maybe I missed something, but in the meantime I have written to their "help" department several times, over the past few weeks, and they keep telling me that someone will get back to me, but so far nobody (including the nutritionist they keep mentioning to me) has responded. (UPDATE: Regarding the "Out of Range" finding. They did get back to me and explained that this more likely means deficient, rather than too much. I would have thought it to be opposite of this, but they said if you are out of range you are reading low in these reaction testings. I increased my review by one star becasue they did get back to me. Your trust in this method and results is totally personal, along with what you might do with the information from the results.) There was some conflicting information about how to send in your hair samples, and that is not clarified until after you seal the package with the initial instructions, which forced me to reopen my package and reseal my hair samples into a separate sealable bag... they tell you that after the fact. (Dealing with the static electricity of hair does not make for fun transfer!... I guess I have a greater understanding of where the term "splitting hairs" comes from!)

This kit is marketed to provide you with "body tolerance test" result with a strains of your hair. I think it is achievable, but my education (advanced degree with chemistry background) tells me that you should take the result with a grain of salt. 1. The product arrives in a small cardboard box. As you can see in the 2nd photo, it says "Apply security seal here", which is confusing since a) no current seal or whatsoever; b) per instruction, this box is not to be shipped back 2. The instruction asks me to collect a strain of hairs and put them in a sealed pouch, which again, is not provided in the package. 3. It asks you to ship back your sample the address with an envelope provided, BUT no postage. ***So after you paid for the pricey product, you have to find your own means of sample bag (I managed to find a zip bag), and pay for the postage*** It took about 2 weeks for me to get an email notification about the product arrived. And it only took a day for me to receive my report. The test results are categorized into three groups: 1) High Reactivity; 2) Moderate Reactivity; 3) No Reactivity. I wish they put more explanations on what does "reactivity" mean, and how the test is conducted. Instead, the wording says "fall outside of optimal range", "causing or contributing to physical symptoms" are simply too vague. For example, the report says I am sensitive to all wheat food, which is the main food I am growing up with. Does it mean I should stop eating all bread? What will happen if I keep eating wheat? What "symptom"? That is why I feel the results are sketchy.

Review for: Check My Body Health | Body Intolerance Test | Check for 1200 Different Intolerances In the last year or two, I have apparently come down with several allergies that I never had before. I ended up going to my Doctor for a chronic cough along with nasal congestion and she had some blood work done that indicated I am now allergic to; pollen, Bermuda grass, rye grass, mugwort weed and a couple of other things. (I never realized they could test for allergies from a blood sample). Now I take an over the counter allergy med and for the most part, I do ok - although my nose gets pretty clogged up at night. So when I saw this test that will check for '1,200 different intolerances' from a hair sample, I had to try it. The number of hairs required to be submitted depends on the length of your hair. 4 to 5 strands if your hair is longer than an inch, and 8 to 10 strands if it is shorter than that. I needed a haircut anyway, so I clipped 10 or so hairs. Now you're supposed to place these hairs into a 'small sealable bag' but I didn't have one, and I was concerned that I didn't want to place these hairs into just anything that would contaminate them. I ended up getting a clean sheet of printer paper and folded it up into a little packet and placed the hairs inside that. When you register the test online (the 1st step) you download and print out a little ID label. So your hair samples go into a little baggie with the ID label attached. The baggie gets inserted into another envelope that you seal - the "Hair Sample Wallet" and then that 'wallet' goes into a pre-addressed envelope that you mail off to Check My Body Health. I mailed the envelope about 10 days ago, and I still have not received the email acknowledging they have received it - but keep in mind as I write this review, Christmas is in 3-days. So far, the procedure was pretty easy/foolproof. I would have liked to see them include a clear plastic baggie for the hair sample with the kit and I think they should include return postage for the envelope (you have to furnish your own stamp) I will update this review when I get the results of the test, but so far I am pretty pleased with it.
