After my shoelace ripped from shifting the gear lever, I purchased this product and it worked a few months until the stitching that held the Velcro came undone. Another rider told me to "use a sock" it works just as well.

It’s a little goofy as far as design goes, but it gets the job done. I can’t tell you how many boots I’ve ruined with shift wear. You will probably have to take your shift lever up a tic or two though.

worked very well to allow normal boots to shift the bike without pain. but on a short ride, sadly these did not stay put and i had to remove for safety. not sure what happened after stuffing them into a pocket.

Item is adequat and does the job however the underside of the toe guard left black marks on my tennis shoe, I wiped most of it off but some still showing. Using a cloth fabric would offer better protection without leaving any marks.

Maybe for $6.99 I am asking too much, but literally the Velcro strap failed after 5 weeks. The rubber pad works great and holding up well, but the Velcro strap, the one that wraps around you shoe, needs some improvement. First with larger shoes, the strap is a little short and you only get about an inch of Velcro engagement. The problem with this is if you walk on carpet with the boot protector on the exposed portion of the Velcro sticks to the carpet. Also the upper Velcro which attaches to the laces started to wear out, after 5 weeks it only marginally holds to itself. ... show more

Even when wearing this on your shoe, you can still walk around a bit and I haven't noticed any damage to it at all. Hasn't fallen off and hasn't been a nuisance. Worth getting if you're going to be wearing nice or expensive shoes that you like while riding.
