Holding up very well so far on wrestling boots!

I needed some thin rubber sole material to put on a pair of pro-wrestling boots that would be able to withstand the rigors of a wrestling match. I was a bit skeptical of buying this (as I have never done any shoe modifications before), but gave it a shot. The sheet that the sole material came on was large, enough to cover the soles of two size 14 boots. One side is the actual rubber grip material, and the other is smooth. It was very easy to trace and cut out the sole shape with a regular pair of scissors. It's important to note that the rubber sheet does not have any adhesive, so you will need to have your own to get this to stick to your shoe. I used Weldwood Rubber contact cement, applied it to the rubber sole and the bottom of the boot, let it sit for about 10-15 minutes, then pressed them together. Finally, I cut and sanded down the edges of the sole. In the end, it works great! It provides good traction, was very easy to cut and modify, and is holding up well. We will see how well it stands the test of time, but so far, 5 stars, no complaints whatsoever.

Very sturdy if done right it will last

I have pair of cool skating shoes (6 years old) and they were fading away on middle but they still look new. I bought this product and glued it on the sole and it works i recomend it!

Durable Material, But Difficult to Keep Attached

The material itself seems durable and works well for extending the life of worn shoe soles. My biggest issue has been getting it to actually stay attached to the shoe. I’ve tried several different types of shoe glue, as well as staples and short shoe nails, but I’ve continued to have trouble getting the material to adhere securely to the soles. Once it is attached, the material seems like it would hold up well, but getting a strong and lasting bond has been the biggest challenge for me. I think this could be a useful product if you can find the right way to attach it securely to your particular shoes.

Easy to cut to size

Good non-skid surface. Am getting good service using the material to resole Haflinger slippersthat are worn indoors. Very thin product that may not withstand outdoor use.

Great for adding traction to moccasains

Have a pair of all leather moccasins and I walk on hardwood floors and it wears out the soles in no time. I first purchased crepe and tried to apply this to the bottoms, but it would not hold and kept coming loose. I removed the crepe soles and scraped all the glue off with a wire brush and then applied soles using this rubber material and they work perfectly. Keep me from slipping on the hardwood floors and save the soles of my moccasins and they stayed glued; I used contact cement.

DISAPPOINTING

Disappointing Product: Poor Adhesion I purchased this shoe sole protector with high expectations, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a big disappointment. The rubber piece reacts poorly to shoe glue, drying up and curling without adhering properly to the shoe sole. Despite following the instructions carefully and using a quality adhesive, the protector wouldn’t stick and started warping almost immediately. The material feels flimsy and poorly designed for its intended purpose. It defeats the whole point of protecting the soles if it can't stay in place! Save your money and look for a better alternative. This one just isn’t worth the hassle.
