I’m happy with the ease of use and results I got using the Charlotte Tilbury light/medium tanning drops on my legs and arms just a couple evenings in a row (develops overnight). My skin is super pale, and the drops resulted in enough color so my skin had a lovely golden tone and didn’t stand out as being my normal stark white shade. I wouldn’t say my skin looked tan or turned a deep bronze shade (even when later using more drops), but my skin got enough color so it had more of a healthy look rather than being so pasty white. I find the drops easy to use and forgiving in that I simply used my hands (washed right after) and didn’t get streaks or dark areas where color grabbed too much. I did continue to use the drops a few more times during the week leading up to an outdoor event where I wanted to have a little color, though I didn’t perceive my skin as getting noticeably darker with continued use. That may be due to shaving a couple times and how I reapplied drops. My skin still had color for the event, but I feel the color looked best after the first two applications. Now that I know how the color develops and that it doesn’t get streaky on me, I’ll just wait until a couple days before I want some color to use the drops as I didn’t really notice further darkening with continued use. The shade actually looked good after just one night but a second application let me even out the color as I had concentrated a little less on the back of my legs. I feel continued use was more about maintaining color. It may be Fromm choosing the lighter shade, or because I shaved a couple times or even because I used different techniques applying the drops and was imprecise as to amount used. Directions say the drops can be applied directly to the skin or added to moisturizer. The drops are alcohol based and my skin gets very dry, and my best results occurred applying the drops at night (showered in the a.m.) after applying a small amount of body cream first and smoothing a little more cream over the same areas after (slightly different than the directions). I also tested how it worked simply adding drops to my cream and I did get color, but I feel I got more color putting the drops directly on my lightly moisturized skin. When mixing the drops, I may have used too much cream given my dry skin and that likely diluted the drops or may have made my skin less prone to absorb as much of the drops. I can’t say this is the product I’d use (though maybe in the darker shade) if I wanted to get dark enough to look tan, but these drops did give my skin the level of color I anticipated and wanted. My sensitive, dry skin has had no negative reaction. However, I can’t say if it might irritate the more sensitive skin on my face as I haven’t used the drops on my face as my skin tone looks more even when pale, plus I avoid products with drying alcohol on my face. I do notice a faint, slightly unpleasant, odor on my legs while the tanner develops. I do believe that’s common from the interaction of DHA with amino acids on the skin surface, but not everyone gets it and there are ways to minimize it. Overall, like it a lot. 4.5 stars.

These Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Tanning Drops give me a soft, natural-looking glow, and I really like the light-reflecting pigments. I was a little nervous about using a self-tanning product on my face, so I started with just two drops added to my moisturizer. That small amount added the perfect touch of color. It's subtle and believable, exactly what I was hoping for. The formula is easy to apply and blends evenly with no streaking. The downside is that alcohol is one of the top 4 ingredients, and I try to avoid drying ingredients for my maturing skin. So, I will only use it occasionally when I want a little boost to look my best.

I am still trying to work out the best way for me to use what are basically very nice tanning drops: no oiliness, spread smoothly, and minimal smell. I have very fair skin, and so should be a natural target for these drops, but the problem with using products like this (and I've tried several) is that if you don't get the application just right on fair skin, you end up with streaks. Or worse: The area around my eyes is very sensitive and these drops are among the tanners that make that area itchy, though avoiding the area leaves me with white circles there instead, which is not a great look. Also, the tone of the tan is very nice--not al all orange-y--and should complement most skin tones, though I find that the drops are so subtle in their effect that they have very little impact despite my fairness (except for around the eyes, unfortunately). I prefer this to the drops that have a more dramatic but overly harsh effect, and haven't gotten the streaks I always worry about, but it's still sort of frustrating. I'll continue to use these, though, and with luck I'll find a routine that works for me.

I have very dry skin, so every time I used a tanning lotion in the past, my skin would peel or crack even more. That’s why I was always hesitant to use any tanning products. A friend recommended this one, and honestly, I hesitated because it was a bit pricey. But I’m so glad I gave it a try! It goes on super lightweight, feels moisturizing without any stickiness, and doesn’t irritate my skin at all. It gives a natural, healthy-looking glow rather than an overly dark or fake tan, which I absolutely love. I’m already planning to use it again next summer — happily!

This product is amazing. I love that I can mix this with my moisturizer and apply it all once. I am fair complected and I burn more than I tan and by the time others are actually dark, I am just starting to get a slight tan. Then throughout the winter it disappears and I start all over the following summer. I already had a base tan when I received this so I was hoping this would sustain what I already had and make it last longer. It has done just that. I haven't laid out in the sun in over a month however I still have a nice golden color to my skin. I got the fair/medium tone which is perfect for my skin giving it just enough color that it don't look fake. Most tanning products leave me looking streaked but I had no streaks with this at all. Not sure if you use it alone if will develop streaks but when mixed with your moisturizer and applied, I had no streaks. This does have Hyaluronic Acid in it so if you are sensitive to this, you would probably want to do a patch test first. The price is a bit steep for 1 fl. oz. but you only use a few drops at a time so this will last a while.
