Hunter Douglas is no longer providing a warranty to repair window coverings in NNM where I live and where this service was previously available the past 15 years. Instead of spending $485 to replace my small office blind with a newer model from Hunter Douglas, I opted to try this cordless, light filtering shade on Amazon. It was super easy to install, nearly matches the rest of my Hunter Douglas blinds, and eliminates the need for the string system which breaks over time anyway--at a fraction of the cost. I replaced all my mini blinds with these. Plus 3 sliding glass doors. I have a few that are a smaller pleat. These are a nice wide pleat. I now know that when you read the description. Great product. Easy to hang and go up and down smoothly. I have light filtering and love them.

The first thing to note is that these are light-diffusing blinds. Great for areas you still like to have soft light coming into the room. These are not black-out shades. I would not recommend these for the bedroom if you are trying to get some sleep during the day or for a home office where the windows reflect on the monitors. It will still have too much light to work for videoconferences. With that said, the Honeycomb look is great and the set-up (after figuring out the no so clear instruction) was quick. In the past I bought Levolor blinds at Lowe's, and these blinds are comparable, but half the price. They look as good and works as good. Installation was not that difficult, but it was pretty hard to do the final step, which is to snap it in. I advise the installer to try the clips while it's down first, just to see how it supposed to fit. ... show more

Since I've been working from home, I've been putting blinds up everywhere to work with my new schedule (sleeping in until 10AM BABY!) and the sun has become a true antagonist. I purchased some other blinds previously, same size, but they were pleated and of a lesser quality than these were. Just to make sure you're aware, these are light DIFFUSING. They don't block all light and are definitely not black-out shades. What they do is take the harsh sunlight and soften it, like the afternoon on a sunny day at all time, maybe with some clouds. This means that I can bathe in the soft light of the morning (my best sleep time) without having it wake me up or pierce my eyelids like a sword. The Honeycomb look is great and the set-up after setting up all the other blinds was a snap. I do want to point out two negatives though - one, the brackets that hold up the blind are made of plastic, not metal (bummer) and the instructions are just awful. I was lucky that I had experience setting up 3+ other shades in the past month so I could figure it out well enough. However, a newcomer would have issues. ... show more

It would have been nice if the instructions specified the size of drill bit but I managed. My bits are loose in the drawer but measuring, it looks like I used a 3/16. I did work it around a little.
