My son is at the too-big-for-kids, too-small-for-men size. Depending on brand he fits in youth xl to men’s small. Often the youth XL is too small & men’s small is too big. At Old Navy, XXL/size 18 kids is just right. His waist is 29” and he has a large back end. Despite these being size men’s small, These were way too small! Had to send them back. I I bought these pants for my 11yr old son (will be 12 in November). He is 5'4" and 235lbs. I ordered the 3xl because the 2xl was too snug and the belt is way too short. He is a D lineman. These pants were on the pricey side but they are durable and will get a couple of years of wear before we have to buy the next pair. Anything the Big Boi wears is a lil more costly because of his size but for a big man, his shoes, shoulder pad, and football pants MUST fit appropriately, they are too important to his performance. ... show more

My son is about 5’6” and 185 lbs with a lineman build. The pants are perfect but the belt is way too short. I’m going to look for a longer belt to put on these. Update* After two seasons the thigh pad pocket stitching has come undone. Not a big deal but a bit of a nuisance when the pad slips out.
