Description

The Champion Power Equipment 11006 10,000-lb. Truck/SUV Winch Kit with a 3.6-horsepower (12-volt) DC series wound motor is designed for powerful and reliable winching with your truck or SUV. With a gear reduction ratio of 216:1, this winch boasts a line speed of 3.9 feet per minute with a full load, and 15.7 feet per minute with no load. The 85-foot by ⅜-inch galvanized, super-duty aircraft cable is less prone to fraying, even when used in highly abrasive terrain, such as in rocks, mud, or sand. This incredibly strong cable is guided onto the 2.5 by 8.8-inch drum through the reliable roller fairlead to maximize the life of the cable. The efficient three-stage planetary gear system, dynamic braking system and free spooling clutch along with the hand- held quick-connect remote control and 12-foot cable offer excellent control while winching. The included snatch block can be used to increase winching power or to aid in angled pulls. With a rated line pull of 10,000 pounds, this winch installs quickly with our Speed Mount 2-inch hitch adapter, which features convenient 3-position adjustable handles that also serve as side guards to protect your winch. The Speed Mount hitch adapter is designed for quick and easy mounting, transportation and storage. I bought this winch to operate a pickup mounted large round bale mover that I custom built. It seems to work good and I like the wireless option. It allows me to operate it within my cab without having to drill holes through it to run wires. I haven't really put it to the test for pulling abilities as I have the cable going through 3 pulleys to reduce the pulling pounds to lift a bale. For reference, I had a 3K lb winch on it before and just 1 pulley and that did lift the bale but it struggled so I added the extra pulleys. Then I found this winch and wanted the wireless option and that's why I traded up. So far it seems to be a good product and was easy to install. UPDATE 2/10/15... Winch is still working good. I just let the wire out to lower the bale spear, back into the bale of hay, hit the button on the remote to lift and drive off. Only issue I've had is that sometimes while letting the wire out, it will uncoil or create a loose coil on the spool its wound around because there's not enough tension on the empty spear when it first starts to tip. I guess the weight is too balanced on the hinge point. This causes the wire to get a little messy on the spool and when it is tightened and has put a few kinks in the cable but I think this can happen to any winch in this situation. However, one time it did cause the bolt that holds the end of the cable to the spool to sheer off. I was able to drill it out and taped it for a larger bolt and haven't had any problems since. I'm guessing the winch relays on the cables tension against itself while rolling up to do most of the pulling. So far it's been a good winch and has fit my needs pretty well. ... show more

Install fairly well into my Artic Cat, replacing the original equipment which had issues with the terminal wiring. Main use is to lift and drop a snow plow, so only playin out a couple of feet, Half way through plowing the cable snapped, I had put in a metal link with a max load of 250 lbs between the cable and the plow as a "sacrificial link" it was fine. The snapped cable is tangled into the spool, spent far too long trying to undo the mess, will probably just had to start cutting and hope there's still ample left on the spool. Rather Frustrating. I purchased the 4500 lb winch with steel cable, rocker switch and wireless remote. Extreme quality winch. This is my second champion winch (other is 12,000 lb on my truck). Quite a job to install with all the wiring but Champion provides excellent installation instructions for all the wiring. The contractor is even color coded for proper hookups. It comes with really long wires and cables. I shortened all of mine to length for my install and crimped on new terminal ends. This avoids piles of excess wires/cables. The wireless remote is a must - once you use a winch with a wireless remote you will never go without one. I installed one on my 12K truck winch. Makes walking the cable back to hookup really easy. Champion has super customer service. I needed a frame part on the truck winch that did not show on the parts list. The found the part from another winch model and saved me from having to replace the entire motor to get the motor frame mounting plate. They are located in America and speak normal English. All this quality and service for $166. Amazing value. Highly recommended. ... show more

I bought this Champion winch instead of better established winch brands based on online reviews I have read and my own personal experience of Champion products such as 5K generators in the past. The price was attractive enough for me to just give it a shot. The product didn't disappoint me from the first time I opened the package. The installation using KFT plate(101215) was a piece of cake on Honda Pioneer 500. I like the big buttons at least for this UTV. All the cables were clearly labeled. Included hardware was all high quality. The only part where I thought was subpart was the protective sleeve for the actual rope. It was not sewn well and started pulling apart but this doesn't really affect the functionality so I could care less. Also, the included wires were short but I do understand it would've worked fine on most ATVs but not for UTVs. Most UTV installation would rely on also a solenoid as such extra cables are expected. Since it was only about a foot short, I emailed Champion and they got back to me in 10 hours with a couple of solutions. I just appreciate when a customer cares to listen to their customers. The product may not be perfect but as long as they are working with their customers and I am loyal. Of course in this case, the product is pretty good. Thanks. ... show more

Great winch, took it apart before mounting it and it’s packed full with grease. Everything’s metal and it’s very well built. I used it to replace an old warm winch on a honda pioneer 500 and the hole matched to the warn mounting bracket. The warn winch was built with lots of plastic and only lasted 4 years while this one seems almost better quality. Used once so far and it’s strong. ... show more
