I seem to never be able to learn that you get what you pay for. The description is much too good to be true, and the product certainly lives down to expectations. No description / instructions, does not include enough packaging for the individual blades (but not needed I guess given as dull as the blades are), and just plain doesn't work well on softer woods and not at all on harder woods. Save yourself the aggravation, time, and expense of investing is this tool. ... show more

This is a nice chamfer plane! The build quality and weight inspire confidence. It’s simple design and straightforward adjustments for bit depth, tightening, and bit swapping is a plus. Everything holds and aligns as it should. Nothing feels cheap about this plane - and there are seven more bits of different shapes/ sizes as an added bonus! Awesome!!! I ran over the edge of some older hard pine boards with good results. Having the right tool for the job is a must, and this chamfer plane fits the bill! ... show more

Granted I tested it on red oak, but this is worthless. The blade needs to be much sharper and I just don’t have the time to sharpen an odd blade like a round over. It is solid metal, so I was hopeful, but as you can see in the picture it leaves a blue line on the wood which would need to be sanded off. Another reminder buy once cry once. ... show more

It is a pretty well made plane, heavy duty metal. Although, there are so many that are exactly the same, just different color or brand name. So not a unique tool. Mass produced and sold under many different names. Blade moves nice and smoothly, the mechanics work as they should. There are NO instructions in the box. None. Yes, I know it's not that difficult to figure out, but would be nice if the company showed they cared about their customers by telling them how to use the product. Like, it would be nice to know what the marks on the blades are, metric, imperial, don't know. You'll have to figure that out on your own. I really don't understand why there is a bubble level? Not like you can hold the plane at different angles to get level? Or I am just not talented. Just don't see how that is useful. Sadly the blades are not sharp at all. It's hard to see in my picture, and too small here on Amazon, but the blade in the plane out of the box, the end is actually jagged, you can see it with your eyes. Obviously why they are not sharp. So good chance you'll need to sharpen the blades. Should be razor sharp out of the box, certainly not jagged. As I said, it is well made, after sharpening it will be a descent plane. I can't say much nice about this other than it initially looks good. It's got a decent feel and weight to it. The bad: *) The blades do not arrive sharpened. At all. Incredibly poor condition, actually. *) Sharpening the shaped cutters is a challenge. I quickly flattened the back of one on a stone and used a needle file to hone the edge for testing. It was an improvement, but quickly dulled. The steel is softer than I would expect for this sort of tool. *) The bubble levels? I guess so it can double as a torpedo level. But the overall quality makes this the last thing I'd trust for such a task. With tenacity this could get a job done, but I'm not sure it's worth the effort you'd have to put in versus just buying a better tool. Or buy one of the cheaper versions of this tool (of which there are countless on Amazon) that omit the curved cutters if you don't really need them. ... show more

Very good quality for the money. Works well, does what it is advertised to do. A bit of advise from my experience with it. Start small and work up to a deeper cut. Looks great.
