This is my first ceramic knife and even after reading about their qualities and restrictions, this one exceeded my expectations. It is well balanced, beautifully made with no manufacturing marks, and the handle is actually quite comfortable in my mildly arthritic hand. The blade is super sharp and cut effortlessly through a couple of pounds of smoked sausage I was cubing up to go into a pot of beans. I already ran it through the dishwasher to test the claim that it was safe to do, and no issues whatsoever with it. The sheath it comes with fits perfectly and is quite snug and thick walled, which is a very nice touch. I think it is a great deal at the $25 asking price, even though they are typically replaced when they dull (which should be many years of normal use), but there is currently a 50% off coupon, so how can one resist (I will be getting me another one or two for some family and friends). I highly recommend this knife, just mind the warnings regarding their use so they do not chip or break as they are inflexible and brittle. A great addition to your kitchen. ... show more

We absolutely love ceramic knives and this one is no exception. You have to be careful with these. Don't use it to pry anything, take care when cutting partially frozen foods, and don't drop them. Even so, we have some older beat up ceramic knives that are still insanely sharp compared to our other carbon steel knifes...without ever having to had sharpened them. ... show more

    • Sharp, well-balanced knife with sheath.
This is a handy, general purpose, kitchen knife. Well balanced with a nice handle that is easy to use. Nothing fancy in the looks department. The size is good for general use. The zirconia blade is sharp and will stay sharp longer than steel but, when it finally needs sharpening, is more difficult to sharpen than steel. The sheath is a necessity with this kind of ceramic knife as it protects the edge from chipping and wear: Use it. ... show more
